We Stand For Wildlife and Wild Places
This is the first known video of the Amazon weasel, a rare small carnivore. It was filmed by a group of coffee producers in Bolivia, where the species hadn't been recorded before.
Eyner Quispe, the coffee producer who filmed the weasel near a natural spring?on his farm,?said, “I was not sure what this animal was, but I knew it was not common. Biodiversity is an important part of our coffee story and so I filmed it as best I could. It’s a wonderful surprise to find out how important this observation is for Bolivia.”
It's an example of the importance of citizen science to #biodiversity knowledge, says WCS’s Robert Wallace . Bolivia is a recognized world leader in this area.
"As soon as I saw the video," Wallace says, "I knew it was a creature that we can only dream of observing."

2 Jaguar Cubs in Guatemala
It's great to see young jaguars in Guatemala’s Mirador-Rio Azul National Park, an important habitat for the species. With partners, we have more than 50 camera traps there to inform conservation efforts. One of them caught this trio passing by.
