3 Most common mistakes in video
1. Using Portrait or Verticle Orientation. Online video platforms use landscape, and usually widescreen orientation. If you hold your phone vertically you’ll find it easier to get a full vertical shot, but when it is shown on your screen the results are less than ideal. If you want to full body shot, back up or use a wide-angle lens. Already have vertical videos? You can crop them or…combine them on the screen with other graphics.
2. Using the onboard mic. The mic is actually decent quality, considering the price is right as its included with your phone. But get more than a few feet away and the sound suffers. Either get closer, or use an external mic that you can get closer to the subject.
3. Not having enough good light. Obviously getting ideal lighting isn’t always possible, but do try to choose an environment that has good light, or add some using whatever you have on hand or can get with reasonable time effort and expense appropriate for the project.
