3 Mistakes That Cost Online Coaches Thousands Every Month

Follow me to build a one-person, location independent business... in under 20 hours a week
In January of last year I joined the Likes Ain't Cash community as one of their coaches...
And I've helped over 100 of our clients grow their businesses by giving them feedback on their email marketing, copy and offers.
Some clients are new to the online game while others are making $30K/mo, $50K/mo and beyond.
Either way, email tends to be overlooked as a marketing channel...
And many coaches aren't even doing what I'd consider the basics.
So here's what I tell them:
#1 - Send More Emails
At a minimum, I'd send a weekly newsletter, but I HIGHLY recommend at least 3 emails a week.
The main reason is because the competition in the inbox is fierce.
You're not just competing against other coaches who do what you do.
You're competing against every newsletter in your subscriber's inbox.
Just looking right now I've got 100+ emails to sort through...
And I have to look at every single email to decide what's important, what isn't and next steps.
But that's not all...
I have 4 separate email accounts.
So I need to follow the same process for all 4 accounts.
So if you're only emailing your list once a week, it's kind of like asking people to find a needle in a haystack.
And I know it makes a lot of people uncomfortable sending "that many emails" but it's not a lot at all.
Because most of your subscribers aren't even OPENING your emails.
So when it comes to email frequency, I like to be more aggressive.
3x a week is decent.
Daily tends to be better (as long as quality is high).
Which brings me to point #2...
#2 - Find A Frequency That's Sustainable For You
It makes no sense to announce a daily newsletter...
Keep it up for two weeks...
Then give up.
If the Sweet Spot for you is two days a week...

Then stick with two days a week.
That's fine.
Email works best when it's done LONG-TERM.
And I'd much rather see you stay consistent than send 5 emails this week...
1 next week...
And 3 the following the week.
I like predictability in my business.
And one way to do that is by creating a writing habit, whether batching all of your writing one day or starting every morning with a cup of coffee and a 300-word email you write to your list.
Finally...
#3 - Talk About Pain Points
A lot of people approach their emails like they're teachers, offering step-by-step instructions.
That's OK to do once in a while, but the main thing I want to do is CHANGE THE WAY MY READER'S THINK.
This is how you get people open to hearing your ideas and your solutions (instead of giving you lots of resistance).
For example:
If you're a fitness coach, one of the biggest myths in your niche is this idea that you need to do lots of cardio to lose weight.
Every competent fitness coach knows this is false...
But the general public still believes it.
So if you can give them a little insight that helps them think differently about weight loss... understand why hours of cardio hasn't helped... why they're still stuck... and how your solution is different...
They'll be more receptive when you present your weight loss offer.
