This week, I wanted to do something a bit different.
Over the last 9 years, we've learnt a lot about marketing.
In this week's episode (scroll down to 'thought for the day'), I'm revealing all.
The 3 marketing lessons I share have generated millions in revenue for our customers (and us!).

There is already TONS of content in here & I'm tired, this section will be back next week.
In other news...
- This week has been pretty stressful. I did a 14 hour day on Wednesday & feel shattered. It's not all fun and games this running a business malarky!
Thought for the day
Here are 3 Marketing lessons I WISH I knew when starting out:
Lesson 1: Tapping into nostalgia is SO powerful
If I asked you to think back to the TV shows you watched or food you ate or what the 'crazes' were for you growing up, how would it make you feel? Pretty warm & fuzzy right? If you work for a brand you can make your customers feel like that to by linking your brand with these nostalgic memories!?
Example: We did this recently with the Mr Motivator London Victoria Flash mob we launched for Constant Contact & also the Sunny D relaunch (featuring Barry from Eastenders & Dave Benson Phillips) last year that got featured in LADBible & MailOnline.
Lesson 2: Triggering emotion is also SO powerful
If I asked you to look back at the last few posts you reshared or reacted to on social media, can you spot any patterns? Did they make you FEEL something? Happy, sad, excited, emotional? I bet they did. When our emotions are triggered we take action! Brands can tap into this!
Example: We did this with Stop 'N' Go safety gloves & helped generate a £1M contract with this emotive & entertaining campaign!
Lesson 3: You need to CONSTANTLY innovate
For us, in 2016 most of our business came from Twitter & Facebook, then Snapchat & Insta in 2017, then speaking at events in 2018, then video in 2019, podcasting in 2020, LinkedIn in 2021, TikTok & short form video in 2022, AI helped a lot in 2023 & 2024. It's so important to constantly look for new ways to drive business!
Example: We literally only started paying to TikTok in 2022 & in 2023 we supported the BBC with their TikTok strategy & the head of marketing said this!
I hope you find these lessons useful, they've helped us a lot!
Happy Friday!! ??

1 周Happy Friday! ?? These are fantastic insights. Thank you for sharing! Tapping into emotions and nostalgia can create such a strong connection with an audience. There’s something so rewarding as a marketer when your content resonates deeply, sparking a feeling or memory that not only captures attention but also builds affinity for the brand. :)
