3 Magical Productivity Tools a CXO should not Live Without!

The 3 tools, which I going to share today, can transform your productivity to the next level. I am using most of these tools from last 10 years or more and have gained significant improvement in my productivity levels.?

Once you get to know these tools, you might regret that you should have known these earlier:-)

Cherry on the cake is that these tools are absolutely FREE.

Here are those 3 magic tools:

1. OneNote

After Microsoft Excel, this is the most powerful tool from the house of Microsoft. There is a great chance that you might have installed it once on your system but didn't use it much.??

If you are using it- thumbs up!

This is the single most powerful tool which a CXO should not live without. It's your digital notebook where in you can have different sections for different issues and in those each section, you can have as many pages as you want.

Not only this, you can create as many notebooks as you want.

The flow is:

Notebook > Section > Pages

Best part is that all the notes are stored on cloud so you don’t need to worry about taking the back up. You can access it on your mobile phone with the same ease as on your laptop.

You can keep all those information in OneNote which you might need to refer again.?

Few examples:

• You can note down the crux of many trainings you have attended so far for easy recall ( the search feature of OneNote is excellent- it goes on searching the text in a picture).
• You can keep the screen shots from newspaper and magazine by dedicating one section or page for it.?
• You can keep all the minutes of important meetings.
• You can write down the insights or ideas which you keep getting.?

I can assure you that once you realize the power of OneNote and start using it, you wouldn’t be able to resist yourself from writing a thanks note to me:-)?

2. Dictation tool

This is one of the most powerful yet highly underutilized feature of our smartphones and laptops. This literally takes away the requirement of typing on the key board as you just need to speak and your dictation tool will write it for you.?

When I share about it, most of the CXO ask- what's the accuracy level?

This may vary from phone to phone but with my iPhone 12 I usually gets approx. 95% accuracy. But when I use it on my MacBook (M1Model), I get some lag while it types back and accuracy also vary from 90-95%.

This feature is amazingly convenient when you are writing longer content or you want to capture different ideas related to any issue.?

I wrote down major part of my book (How to Manufacture Time?) using this feature only.??

Caution:?

It takes a while before you get proficient using it. Initially, you might go blank and short of words while speaking.????

3. KeyBreeze/Alfred

If you access lot of websites or google docs during your work day then you must have this tool installed on your laptop.?

Not only websites, you can launch any application in your laptop using this tool without lifting your fingers from the keyboard.??

For Windows environment you need to use Keybreeze and for MacBook users, Alfred is the app.?

Now, you must be thinking but what it does and how it will increase my productivity.?

Hold on, I am telling you in a while.

Usually, to launch any application (Excel, PowerPoint etc.), you access it using few clicks, right???

Similarly, for opening any regularly used website, either you create a shortcut on your desktop or you directly type in the browser, right??

However, with Keybreeze/Alfred, you can simply assign a short name (which you can easily remember) to any website and it gets immediately launched (obviously you need to save the URL once).?

Your next question might be- how to launch the Keybreeze/Alfred wherein you can type the application or website name. It's quite easy- it gets launched through a shortcut key on your laptop. For example, to access Alfred, I just need to press "Alt" + "Space" key on my MacBook.

For example, if I need to access the Personal Banking on ICICI Bank website, I can assign it a short name "ICICI Personal" and when I type ICICI Personal in the Keybreeze/Alfred, the website login page immediately gets opened.?
