3 Life-Changing Questions to Ask Today
These three questions have the power to change and transform your life immediately, so I'm going to share them with you today. Hi, I am Tim Fitzpatrick with Rialto Marketing.
Thank you so much for tuning in. I am flying solo today. It is just me. Should be a short episode here, but a while back I was listening to a podcast with Russell Brunson, who is the one of the co-founders of ClickFunnels, which is a marketing software, if you haven't heard of it, but love the stuff he puts out. And he shared these three questions that he, I believe he had received from a mentor of his.
And when I heard them, it just made me stop in my tracks and I was like, dang, these are so simple but so powerful. The information that we can glean by asking others these questions is absolutely amazing. So I want to share it with you. There are three very simple questions you can ask them of anybody that you have a relationship with. Your kids, your spouse, significant other your teammates, you know, business partners, vendors, you know, people, the referral partners that you work with, clients, anybody who you want to continue to build that relationship and build a strong, solid relationship.
If you ask these questions on a regular basis, I believe it will be transformational for those relationships and really, really empowering. So I'm going to jump into this. So the first question is, what do you wish I would keep doing? What do you wish I would keep doing? What am I doing well? that is serving you, serving our relationship that you really like. If you want to continue that relationship, you need to know that, right?
Because if I don't know what I'm doing well that they want me to keep doing, I may stop doing it. And then all of a sudden things may start to go downhill with that relationship. So knowing what I'm doing well in that relationship to start. Empowers me to keep doing those things that are feeding that relationship. OK, so that's the first question again. You mean you can see these are really simple. Now, this next one, you make it a little bit defensive, right?
You got to be strong and very open minded to ask these questions. But the second question, what do you wish I would stop doing?
What am I doing that is, you know, that's not serving you, that's annoying the heck out of you, that's not helping our relationship? You know it's very easy to get defensive when you hear the answers to these questions. But if you have an open mind and take it in as this information is going to help me make this relationship better and stronger and help it continue to grow. Then if I don't know about the things that I'm doing wrong, I can't possibly fix it.
None of us are mind readers. So when you ask this question, you get the information that you need to just stop doing things that aren't serving that relationship. Really, really easy right? Now, this last question. What do you wish I would start doing? So we've already talked about what do you want to keep doing, what am I doing well? what do I need to stop doing, what's not serving this relationship and now we're moving into what do I need to start doing?
What am I not doing that I could be doing that's really going to feed this relationship and continue to build it? So, I mean, do you see how transformational asking these questions of people that you really care about and value how powerful that could be? Now, not only do you have to ask the questions, you then have to implement, right, and take the action, but asking these questions is then going to arm you with the information that you need.
To start taking action and continue to improve that relationship or those relationships right there. And like I said, you can ask so many different people these questions, and if you do it on a consistent basis, you're going to continually get the feedback that you need. To drive those relationships forward, super, super powerful, I think. If you don't find a powerful one then just jump off. But I thought that they were just amazingly simple, but powerful questions to ask, so my challenge to you is who you can ask today.
These three questions and start doing it, because if we don't take action, then we're never going to benefit from the information. Now, I have one last bonus question for you, because I know as a result of marketing, a lot of small businesses, entrepreneurs, and that's really why we're putting out this information, is to help you to add value to you and help you continue to grow your business.
So this last question focused on the most powerful question you can ask in business. And this is something that comes up in a peer to peer business group that I'm in with other business owners all the time. So that most powerful question that you can ask in your business is why?
W-h-y, that's it - why so when you can ask this question any time you are thinking about making a decision within your business, a shift we need to bring on this new product or service or we need to cut the expenses here. We need to hire somebody new for this. Asking the question, why helps you dig below the surface? Because a lot of times we're making these decisions or making these choices in kind of a reactionary mode or based on things that we see happening.
And it's like we need to do this. But asking the question, why helps you dig below the surface to really make sure it's almost like a litmus test, is what I think we need to do actually the right thing? Because if you ask why and then answer that question. It's going to help you determine hate. Am I on the right track here or am I not? Because if the answer to that question isn't really a strong reason where you determine, you know what gosh, it's really isn't a valid reason. I really don't need to do this. So asking why throughout your business, as you think about making changes or decisions within your business, can be a really good litmus test question to help you determine. Am I thinking straight here? Is this the right decision? So keep that in the back of your mind any time. You're just going to continually be asking yourself why in your business. It is such a powerful question.
So I hope you guys got some value from this. I really do appreciate you tuning in. So those three questions. Right. The three questions you can ask somebody today.
OK, what do you wish I would keep doing? What do you wish I would stop doing? And what do you wish I would start doing? And the bonus question, the most powerful question you can ask in your business is why? That's it. Thank you for tuning in again.
