3 Lessons I Learned From Grant Cardone In Miami

It’s not everyday you get invited to join a group of powerful influencers in Miami…

It was Wednesday at my office when a text message came in, and read “Manuel, can you be in Miami by tomorrow morning?”

The message was from a client and friend, Brandon Dawson.?

Brandon is a business partner of Grant Cardone and the head of Cardone Ventures.?

I replied “Of course! What’s up?”

Brandon told me Grant and his team were holding an event with some of the biggest business and entrepreneurial influencers in the world, and he wanted to personally invite me to join them.?

My mind was blown.

Going from being broke, and bankrupt to now getting invitations to hang out, learn from, and collaborate with some of the smartest, most powerful people in the business world.

I tell you about this because it’s an example of what’s possible when you dedicate yourself to personal improvement and helping the world.?

That’s what I did around 2010.?

I doubled-down on self-improvement, started studying what it took to be a ‘real’ entrepreneur, and what it meant to be truly successful.?

Fast-forward to today:?

  • My marketing agency just earned a spot on the Inc. 5000 list for the 2nd year in a row.?
  • My supplement company will probably sell about $45-50 million this year.?
  • And I’m getting invited to exclusive events to hang out on yachts with guys like Grant Cardone

?It does take hard work, but more than that…it takes smart work and the right thinking.?

So, let me leave you with three lessons I picked up from Grant while I was in Miami.?

Think Bigger

There should be no reason why you’re thinking small because your dreams, accomplishments and achievements are only as real as you think they are!

When you think bigger it opens the doors to possibilities. We all have abilities of our own, and it’s with those abilities that we can create in the world we live in.

I may not be a billionaire, but I do know that the most successful entrepreneurs in the world aren’t where they are by thinking small, that’s for sure.

So if you have an idea in your head about how big you want to create your business, think bigger–or as Grant Cardone would say, 10x it!

Collaborate More

When Grant made the point that he wanted to collaborate more, he started when he invited numerous influential people to Miami.

Personally, this is something that I’ve been working at and something I’m always open to whenever I go to these events like the one in Miami.

But collaborating with powerful people is an experience like nothing else. It’s flowing power to power, and even leveraging each other's audiences in some cases.

One of the most strategic things you can do is collaborate with other like minded individuals, especially in business, and if you’re smart you’ll collaborate with others that know something you don’t to learn a thing or two!

Make Sure Your Team Is Winning

If there’s one thing to put your attention on it’s your team because a CEO is only as strong as their team.

So if we make sure our team is winning, that means everybody is winning, and if everybody wins then that’s when you have a thriving organization.

Making sure your team is winning could mean having proper systems in place to set them up for success or it could mean rewarding them with bonuses for targets they hit.

Either way, your definition of success and their definition of success should align and both of you should be making sure that it gets executed!

If you really want a prosperous organization working like an unstoppable machine charging towards the future, then everybody needs to win.
