Hey there! It's Craig.
It’s cloudy outside and it's 39 degrees in New York.
Still wearing a peacoat and a wool hat.
Got a package which came in a few minutes ago. Will open it later.
Mom is out food shopping.
Today, we're going to talk about three lessons learned in February.
Are you ready? Let's do this!
------------------------------
February taught me a few things.
About the people who value you.
Here are three lessons I learned this month:
Lesson #1: Your network cares.
Earlier this month, I received three LinkedIn messages.
Messages from my 1st-degree connections.
They noticed I was not around in the feed.
Earlier this Sunday, I received a third message.
It said:
"Hey Craig,
I Don't see your post.
Are you creating?
Or I am not able to get"
I asked her:
"Anuja, did you see my Activity on my profile or rang the bell on my profile?
I made a post on Tuesday and an article post yesterday."
She said:
"Ooh.
I just rang the bell."
Receiving the messages shows concern for my well-being.
People will check in to see if you are okay.
Keep the people in your network in mind.
Lesson #2: People want to see you succeed.
Had an informational interview with a Customer Success Manager last week.
Gain feedback and a free LinkedIn review.
She wants to be in the loop.
Gave her a handwritten thank you card in person at the company.
An informational interview is different from a job interview.
It's a chance to learn more about the company or career and gain advice.
It's not only for job seekers.
You can use them to locate mentors or pick the brains of experts on a subject.
The people who took the time to chat want to be in the loop.
They want to hear how the advice helped you.
To see you succeed and be of help.
Lesson #3: Be of value to make an impact.
Every day is a day to add value.
Your comments, messages, and posts play a role in helping people.
Your garden of connections grows when you add value.
Value the people who value you.
To recap:
1. Your network cares.
2. People want to see you succeed.
3. Be of value to make an impact.

1 年When I saw your comment on another post, I first thought I hadn't seen Craig around in my feed. I went to your profile and realized I had not tapped the bell notification feature. Now I know I won't miss you. You do provide so much value that I don't want to miss what you say, Craig, and I am glad that it was my inattentiveness and not you being off LinkedIn for a while.

1 年Every day is a new opportunity to add value. Sometimes it can be as simple as sharing what we know, Craig.
Writing so good copy, you'd buy your own products
1 年Number 3 is so important. I'd add, find your unique and then become a value package. Don't just do it because everyone is doing it. Appreciate you Craig
