3 lessons from September

Thursday, 7:26am

September 26th, 2024

Mom is in the living room eating oatmeal with butter and sugar.

Baby bro is in the kitchen making a sandwich.

I got a package in the dining room on Monday.

It's a long-sleeved shirt and a sweater from Australia.

It's cloudy outside — 67 degrees here in New York.

Let's talk about 3 lessons in September.

------------------------------

There is one thing you may not talk about often.

The lessons you learned for the month.

There are different types of lessons:

1. What you accomplished (for yourself)

2. What people taught or said to you (for your growth)

3. What you picked up (from your mistakes or your journey)

There are other lessons out there.

Look for what is important to you.

For September, here are the 3 lessons:

1. Numbers matter and who you impact matters more.

There are a few milestones I hit this month:

Hitting 25,000 followers on September 4th.

Wrote 150 LinkedIn articles as of September 12th.

Had a Zoom call with a fellow LinkedIn connection.

You may be thinking:

"Wow! You had a good month, Craig."

True.

To be honest with you, it's about the people.

There is more to life than focusing on numbers.

It's who you impact.

2. "Stick with the standard."

This is what a co-worker said to me on September 12th.

If something works, stick with it.

Learn from it.

Improve on it.

You become someone who is the standard.

3. Your journey is worth protecting your health.

I cut my finger while stretching near a ceiling fan earlier this week.

Mom was there to put hydrogen peroxide and a band-aid on it.

The finger is okay.

And the band-aid is off.

Love you, Mom.

Take the time to see a doctor.

Your journey is a long one.

And make sure you stretch your arms away from a ceiling fan.

Your future self will thank you.

See you in the next one!

Talk soon,

Craig

P.S. Do you think sharing lessons is good? For me, it's something we need to do more of. You?

Learning from our mistakes instead of beating ourselves up will be a lot better, Craig.

I believe that learning from lessons provides valuable insight, helping us navigate challenges with caution and avoid repeat mistakes. Nevertheless, hands-on experiences offer the most transformative learning opportunities, leaving an indelible mark on our understanding and personal growth.
