3 lessons from June

Mom is home from the hospital!

She came home this past Wednesday.

Baby bro is sitting next to her watching TV.

It's cloudy — 68 degrees here in New York.

Let's talk about three lessons from June.

------------------------------

This month had a few highs:

Hitting a 1 year anniversary at my job on June 1st.

Co-hosted a LinkedIn Live audio event yesterday.

The most important thing is this:

Mom is home!

Here are 3 lessons learned from June:

1. Celebrate your wins no matter how small they are.

Have you done something you're proud of?

It could be:

  • Making up your bed.
  • Finishing a project.
  • Cooking a meal.

Document what you did no matter what.

You remember what is positive.

The wins will keep your spirits up so you can move forward.

2. Be thankful, mindful, and careful.

To be thankful is to be grateful.

There is an honoree event coming up this Saturday.

The person invited to attend couldn't make it.

I wanted to go since I had free time.

The person will sponsor my ticket.

He texted me yesterday to say:

"It's all yours".

On the same day, I received a message from a different person.

He said:

"We cannot progress without change."

Sometimes you have to be mindful and careful.

The message can be what you need.

And some messages you can ignore or delete and move on.

The message is to change what isn't working to make progress.

It's not hard.

It takes work.

3. Great things happen to great people who put in great work.

I wrote this on June 1st at 2:51am.

This was at work.

Put your best work in.

Do what you can with the time you have.

Make it great.

P.S. What was one lesson you learned in June?

June.. what a great question! ?Meditation time is non-negotiable and practicing throughout the day (not just morning time)IS possible ?Eliminate more outside “noise”, less media opinions ? checklists for daily personal goals are just as important as professional ? I challenged my goal of a book a week and was able to listen to two thanks to audible/ my reading time has never been negotiable and since age 7 but it was a joy to challenge that and read more! ? no matter how I’m Viewed personally/ professionally.. I know what I bring to the table and I never need to defend myself as a Latina professional female (had a situation with an immature yet respected business person who tried to sabotage every aspect of my next role) The list goes on as June was enlightening and painful and my bottom line.. takeaway.. I’m still standing. Still a servant. I still love knowledge, people and nature. ??
