Hey there The Babcock Method? subscribers- quick question…
If you had more money… a super sexy partner… the house of your dreams… and a fancy car to drive around in… Do you think you’d be happy?
If you’re thinking, “Umm, YEAH obviously Rebecca!” … I wouldn’t be so sure.
Of course these things will make most people happy in the short term… But happiness from fulfillment of desires tends to fade.
So how can we have lasting happiness? The kind that makes life rich and fulfilling?
Well, I can tell you for a fact that after helping so many people improve their lives, businesses, and relationships…
There’s 3 Keys to Lasting Happiness that stand out above all the rest:
1. ACTIVELY Practice Gratitude
Everyone’s heard this one before…But how many are actually doing it? I recently met and got to spend time with David Meltzer, one of the most successful people I know (he made his first $100 million by the age of 32)… and he will tell you practicing gratitude is the most powerful thing you can do to change your life.
David insists that just saying “Thank You” twice a day for everything good in your life, can make your life infinitely better.
Even if I didn’t already know this to be true from my own experience, hearing it from someone at David’s level would be enough to make me try it.
You should too!
2. Change Your Environment(s)
Your environment dictate your destiny. But YOU dictate your environments. For starters… PLEASE turn off the negative media.
Your brain is 5X more likely to be programmed by negative inputs than positive ones.
So you need to avoid any unnecessary negativity and basically drown it out with an overabundance of good vibes. This is especially important before bed. If you’re watching stressful news or playing the "compare and despair" game on Instagram, in the 45 minutes before you go to sleep…Your subconscious mind continues to marinate on it for the next 6-8 hours.
Instead?
Read (yeah, sorry, no TV in bed) things that make you feel good, blessed, and joyful. Same thing goes for people. I know it's hard, but you need to be ruthless about avoiding negative people who bring you down.
Yes… even family. It’s true you can’t cut certain people out completely — but if you know they’re not good for you, then you absolutely can limit the time you spend with them.
Be strong. It’ll be worth it.
3. Get Stressed
What!? Yep, I’m totally serious — stress is scientifically proven to create happiness. If you don’t believe me, just sit on the couch all day watching Netflix, ordering DoorDash, shopping on Amazon… doing zero physical activity and accomplishing nothing.
I guarantee you’ll begin to feel like crap very quickly. But when you do something hard, something that challenges you and exerts stress on your mind or body…That accomplishment causes your body to release a combination of dopamine, norepinephrine, and oxytocin.
Which is a perfect biological cocktail for creating motivation, happiness, and joy.
This is why every single morning I do something hard…like a run, meditation, or breathwork. I challenge myself every morning because it lights me up and makes me feel happy, joyful, and excited to take on my day.Using stress in this way is virtually guaranteed to enhance your life and make you feel good.
And Poof! When you simply focus on these 3 things you’ll see your whole life begin to improve. You’ll have stronger relationships, more vibrant energy, and a positive impact on the people around you.
As a result, greater wealth and all the other material things become more attainable too… Because you started with what’s most important in the first place ;)
Be a warrior not a worrier, Rebecca
