1?? Focusing on Number of Followers

Ever wonder why accounts with tens of thousands of followers don’t get a ton of engagement while smaller accounts get a ton? It’s because the number of followers you have has NOTHING to do with the amount of engagement you receive.

Does having more followers help with your reach? Absolutely! But it shouldn’t be your MAIN focus.

Your focus should be on creating a community of people and providing value to them. Because when you do this, you turn your followers into fans. And 1000 raving fans is SO much more important than 10,000 “meh” followers.

2?? Not Interacting With Your Audience

You wouldn’t go to an in-person networking event, sit in the corner all night expecting people to come up and chat with you, then leave at the end and complain about not making any new connections would you? I hope not!

You’d likely go mingle with others, share some stories, ask questions, and start building relationships with people. Right?

It’s the same thing for social media. You can’t post something then sit and wait for the engagements to come. You have to go out and INTERACT with others to build those connections.

3?? Talking to Everyone vs Niching Down

Hear us out. It’s a very noble thing to want to help everyone with your product or service. However, if you are not CRYSTAL clear on who your ideal client or customer is and are then creating content that solves a pain point in their life, YOU ARE MISSING OUT.

Think of it this way, wouldn’t you much rather be a big fish in a small pond vs. a small fish in a big pond? When you niche to a very specific market, you’re creating that small pond and placing yourself (the big fish) inside that pond!
