The stuffy air, the junk food you end up eating, the close proximity to hundreds of people. Airplanes truly put our immune systems to the test.
There was a period of time where there was nearly was a 90% chance I was getting sick after traveling on an airplane. As my business travel numbers went up, this became a real issue. So, I started putting myself through immune building routines.
The night before, I’d drink about half a gallon of water, drink a glass of orange juice, take a long shower to reduce my stress, prepare everything I needed, and get at least 7 hours of sleep.
I stopped getting sick after flying.
There should be a Smart Watch App for Immune Building Behaviors. Tim Cook already called the Apple Watch the guardian for your health. That means it should be guarding my immune system (not just telling me when to breathe and stand up).
This Immune System Builder would remind you to wash your hands after you’ve left a crowded room, avoid junk food if you didn’t get a lot of sleep the night prior, prepare properly for travel, and many more things.
The other problem I frequently run into when traveling is the inefficient check-in process at hotels. Especially after a long day, I don’t want to spend 20 minutes getting my room. That’s why there should be Hotels for the Digital Native that allow for the entire check-in process to be completed online.
Similar to Airbnb except your keycard would be your phone, there’s a digital chatbot concierge, ID and billing info is collected once and stored in your account. This would be quite simple to implement.
And lastly, since business travelers could always use another good reason to travel more, I believe that the world could greatly benefit from an Automation Conference.
This Automation Conference would first and foremost provide us with honest updates on the state of automation at all the major tech companies. Secondly, it would include action plans, resources, and workshops for upskilling at-risk employees.
