3 Holiday Direct Mail Campaigns to Start Now (or Yesterday)

Sure, it’s only October, but if you’re already seeing holiday decorations at your local department store, then you can be sure it’s time to start your holiday marketing campaigns. The season seems to start earlier every year. That’s why you should start these marketing campaigns right now…or maybe even should have started last week.

Holiday Pricing Campaigns

It’s not unusual to slash prices during the holiday season for your retail and ecommerce businesses. How can you let your buyers know that big discounts are coming? By sending informational postcards, of course. You don’t have to give a lot of information to catch their attention. Just let them know which of your products are most likely to be affected by the new pricing, and then show how much money they can save if they shop with you during the holiday season. When those prices drop, those recipients will be right there with credit cards in hand.

Holiday Coupons

Special coupons aren’t the same as special prices, and they shouldn’t be treated as if they are. This is the best way to get buyers who haven’t been customers before inside your store or onto your website. You can also bring back buyers who may have wandered away during the past year.

Postcards and letters with coupons attached are more likely to stay out of the trashcan. They’re posted to bulletin boards and refrigerators until the recipients get a chance to do their holiday shopping. That’s more time for your brand to stay top of mind.

Catalog Marketing

Ecommerce nearly killed catalog marketing campaigns, but now they’re back and better than ever. Even ecommerce companies love sending out catalogs and magazines throughout the year to stay in touch with their buyers. During the holiday season, catalogs are coveted within the home, especially those filled with toys. Everyone loves to mark the items they’d want to see under the tree and leave those catalogs out for loved ones to find.

It’s not too late to pull together a catalog for the holidays, either. Even a short spread of your most popular products will get those cash registers ringing. A dream book does take more time to pull together, but if you’re ready to start right away, your catalogs can hit mailboxes before Thanksgiving.

What are you waiting for? Let’s get your holiday direct mail marketing campaigns started. We’re here and ready to help you grow your business however we can.
