3 Facebook tips for the 2nd half of 2020
The year 2020 has been a doooozy, #amiright or am I right???? Fix it, Lord!!!
Social media has been HUGE this year in terms of people using it to stay connected, communicate, and cope with what’s been happening all year.
And…that’s not changing anytime soon.
I was telling some of my Inner Circle business owners what to expect for the second half of 2020 on social media and (because I love you) I thought you might want to know, too!
So here goes…
1) Expect your Facebook reach to decline. There are a few reasons for this and it’s sort of a double whammy:
- Many people haven’t been able to return to their jobs/businesses yet so they are on social media more.
- It’s an election season so that also means everyone is on social media more.
With more people on social media, you’d think it would be good for your numbers, right? Well, not necessarily. When everyone is on social media more they are sharing tons of content. It becomes a lot harder to get your things seen since everyone's feed is already so noisy.
Now, that doesn’t mean your page won’t reach anyone until after the election. There are plenty of specific things you can do to safeguard from that happening. (Inside my group, the Creators' Inner Circle, I teach things you can do that help keep you relevant and seen in the feed.)
2) The cost of ads will probably increase. This is (again) because we are in an election season.
- Traditionally the cost of ads has increased the closer we get to the actual election. People are using social media to get their news, check on candidates, get predictions, and more so groups are using ads to get that information in people's feeds.
- More people are running ads, so naturally (because our economics teachers in high school taught us about basic supply and demand), the ad cost will increase. When people shut all their ads off, the cost goes back down.
3) Facebook Lives and video will continue to dominate Facebook.
- Because Mark Zuckerberg said so…LOL
- And because people are desperate for human interaction and connection right now. They are lonely, afraid, searching for leadership, bored, looking for connection..all with a REAL person. They want to see you LIVE.
There you have it, friends. If you’re a business owner who works on Facebook a lot, you’re gonna want to pay attention to these things in the coming months.
And if you know a business owner who might want to know these tips, will you do them (and me!) a solid and forward this email to them? I bet they’ll be sooooo stinkin’ grateful you thought of them.
I cover things like this and sooooo.much.more with my members inside The Creators’ Inner Circle. Plus, we just rolled out a new resource--a monthly social media planning Playbook!
You can get a preview of it when you join the Inner Circle waitlist at: creatorsinnercircle.com and we will notify you the minute the doors open to get inside later this month!
Xoxo,
