3 examples of using AI in productivity tools

1. Developers today have Copilot and Ghostwriter, i.e. intelligent assistants who can make their lives easier and improve productivity.

2. Tools for other professions are slowly appearing. Some of them look quite crude, like hobbyist experiments, but groundbreaking innovations are born from such experiments.

3. I found three examples of using generative AI in productivity tools.

4. Multion.ai – looks like a hacked proof of concept, but the idea is inspiring. Multion is a browser add-on that allows you to interact with a website by chatting with a chat based on ChatGPT.

• The demo shows that users can ask about the weather and get an answer in the form of text and Google search results. They can also order a burger and go through the entire ordering process by answering questions from the chat instead of clicking on the website.
• It looks like the creator of Multion is tuning ChatGPT data with what is currently in the browser window and generating Selenium code using ChatGPT to manipulate the browser.
• Let’s compare that to Siri, which is built into macOS and can't do anything noteworthy.
• It would be wonderful to be able to tell Siri: “Book me a hairdresser/doctor/dentist for tomorrow” and get exactly what I'm asking for, and a calendar event with all the information.
• Multion.ai is a harbinger of such a future for me.

5. Auto-Photoshop-StableDiffusion-Plugin – it may not be the prettiest name for a digital product, but it's very descriptive. It's a Photoshop plugin from Models Lab (formerly Stable Diffusion API) .

• Stable Diffusion embedded directly into Photoshop gives you the ability to work on layers and much more precise operation than the web interface.
• The artist creates a scene based on a mix of masks, photos, and generated images. It uses the text-to-image and image-to-image features of Stable Diffusion and masks drawn in Photoshop. It combines these techniques into a larger work.
• It's not creating all the graphics with a single prompt, but full control over the final effect using new image generation techniques.
• This demo shows how interesting the workflow is and what results the plugin can achieve.

6. AI tools in Intercom – Intercom is a popular customer support tool. A few days ago, they implemented a new set of features to facilitate the work of employees responsible for customer service.

• I like that Intercom has chosen the path of making life easier for its users instead of trying to replace the customer service agent with an AI bot. In the post, they argue that LLM models have a hallucinatory problem and give the answer even when it is incorrect.
• I think this is a good direction also because if a given problem requires customer service support, it is often because something has actually broken down and a person needs to take some action or make a decision.
• Intercom implemented the ability to quickly summarize the entire history of messages with a given customer. A useful tool when another employee is to take over a specific problem. How often in a conversation with customer service do you have to explain the same thing 3 times to 3 more people from the service? Too often. How frustrating is that? Very much.
• They also implemented support in writing responses to the client. The service worker can write the answer in a simple way, and the AI model rewrites it in a tone that is more professional or readable to the customer.

?7. The first two projects are the works of independent developers. Multion is a bold and creative experiment. The Photoshop plugin supports a new way of working for the digital artist. Intercom's AI tools are the use of LLM's capabilities to create incremental innovation in a popular product.
