1. You Can't Make a Successful Business Without Taking Risks?
Raoul Duke and Dr. Gonzo leaned INTO risk, (ok, perhaps a little excessively). However, no successful venture can be achieved without taking risks. If you're stuck in the same routine every day, it's difficult to break out of that comfort zone and take your business to the next level. From entrepreneurs to corporate executives, the biggest successes are almost always the result of taking calculated risks.
2. Don't Get Too Attached to Your Ideas
Raoul and Dr. Gonzo had a grand vision for their trip, but reality didn't resemble that plan. Pivoting and iterations were necessary. Similarly, when it comes to entrepreneurship, it's important to remain flexible. Stay attached to your GOAL, but don't get too attached to any one idea, plan or path — be willing to adapt and adjust as necessary for the benefit of your aspirations.
3. It Helps To Have a Partner
“As your attorney, I would advise…..”
The relationship between Raoul Duke and Dr. Gonzo is complex, but it can also be interpreted as a successful partnership. Working together, they were able to tackle the many obstacles that came up on their journey, (hitchhikers! bats! hallucinations!) and complete their mission.?
The same can be said for business — having someone to bounce ideas off of can be invaluable when it comes to making difficult decisions or finding creative solutions. A great partner can help you get through tough times and enable you to realize your goals.
