3 Difficult Things I Learned About Myself Writing Online Every Day For 8 Days In A Row
I decided to write publicly everyday since 8th January.
In that time, I wrote & published 7 Atomic Essays, trying to learn the fundamentals of Digital Writing. It has been an enlightening experience and a challenging journey, and I am more excited than ever to keep writing online.
Here are the 3 biggest things writing & publishing consistently every day for 8 days taught me about myself:
1. Failure is inevitable
When learning or working on something new, expect to fail. Of the 8 days I dropped the ball yesterday and could only ship 7 atomic essays. Not easy on the ego when this happens. But, being in tech for this long I had hoped I'd get used to failing once in a while and learning from it, but it really stings.

2. Anxiety and it's effects
Writing in public was an exciting idea for me, when I started it however I realised I was rushing through words, trying to do things last minute (I mostly started at 11:30pm), and publishing unpolished thoughts, which were against the goals I had set myself. In hindsight all these were caused by my Anxiety of expressing my thoughts in public. Hoping I can recognise this and do better this week.
3. Process is everything
Hearing from others on the same journey as me highlight the importance of a daily routine/process has helped. I've tried to write every morning and realised my mind is too chaotic for it, nights are better. I'm yet to figure out a clear writing/editing routine for myself. Thats the goal for Week 2.
If you have been thinking about getting started writing online too, let me know. I'm happy to share more about the experience and what I learned.
