3 Days with Mr. Kiyosaki

3 Days with Mr. Kiyosaki

I was privileged to be able to travel to the Blair Singer Center for Personal Development in Arizona last week to attend Entrepreneur Development Program training with Robert Kiyosaki and his Rich Dad advisors. It was a deeply impactful training constituting mindset, skills, simulations and many practical experiences drawn from the backgrounds of the expert presenters. I wanted to share a little about what this training meant to me.

Mission. Robert opened with an extensive talk on the importance of mission, reflecting on his personal background both in the US marines and as a student of Buckminster Fuller. Getting clarity on one's mission and the mission of their organisation is the single most important principal for having a beacon in life, whatever you choose to do. Providing unique inspiration and a very connected level, I along with those present heard about the importance of choosing a mission that is bigger than yourself and pursuing it relentlessly, even in the face of powerful adversity.

Code. In his book 'Code of Honor', Rich Dad advisor on sales & management Blair Singer zeros in on how having a clear and shared code helps a group to function by providing clear guidance on how team members must act in all dealings. The code sets not only the best intentions of the group, but also critically what to do in situations where conflicts arise. Recognizing and being able to follow rules is a key skill of teams and individuals who achieve significant accomplishments.

Team. To get where you want to go as an entrepreneur you need to surround yourself with a great team who complement your natural strengths with their own. Business is a team sport. Demonstrating how he walks his talk, EDP included presentations from Robert's key advisors on Law, Tax, Real estate, Stock market, Leadership and Social Enterprise as well as a section on women leaders in business taught by Kim Kiyosaki.

Integrity. Tying all of these themes together is the core of personal integrity. The central skill of cutting through the noise to recognize what is right in any situation, to express it clearly and to act on it. Holding both yourself and the team accountable for commitments made is a critical skill of success.

Over the course of 3 days of intense class time I was inspired to take in a much larger picture of what goes on in the mindset of a global entrepreneur, as well as develop my own financial education and gain entirely new and personal insights into key teaching tools Robert has created such as the Cashflow Quadrant and the B-I Triangle. I cannot recommend strongly enough that anyone with the courage to develop their entrepreneurial skill under a master trainer capitalize on opportunities to engage with Robert and the Rich Dad organisation should one arise.
