3 Copilot updates you need to know about
With AI products being deployed at such a rapid pace, it can be hard to keep up with the developments that are relevant to you. That’s why we’ve rounded up three of the latest Microsoft Copilot updates in this month’s newsletter.
COPILOT COPYRIGHT COMMITMENT
In early September, Microsoft extended its intellectual property indemnity support to include commercial Copilot services. This means that Microsoft will assume responsibility for potential legal risks if Copilot output is challenged on copyright grounds. With this move, Microsoft actively declares its respect for copyright holders while also reassuring its commercial customers who use or plan to use Copilot. Get the details here.
?“As customers ask whether they can use Microsoft’s Copilot services and the output they generate without worrying about copyright claims, we are providing a straightforward answer: yes, you can, and if you are challenged on copyright grounds, we will assume responsibility for the potential legal risks involved.” Copilot Copyright Commitment

DYNAMICS 365 PROJECT OPERATIONS
Dynamics 365 Project Operations is top of mind for us at proMX right now, as we are currently in the process of helping clients migrate from Project Service Automation to Project Operations. Enabling Copilot in Project Operations greatly enhances this already robust project management tool with features for improved project execution, predictive insights, data analysis and more. MICROSOFT TEAMS
While Microsoft Teams is already known for its collaborative chat capabilities, Copilot takes them up a notch. By using data from the web, Teams chats, email and other sources, Copilot makes it easy to find and summarize information on a particular topic, improving the ability to prepare for meetings. But the benefits aren’t limited to Teams chat. Teams meetings and Teams Phone also benefit from real-time summarization in practical ways—like identifying unresolved issues—that improve the quality of the meetings. The rise of AI has left many people wondering if their jobs are going to be replaced by artificial intelligence, but a recent study from the UN found that generative AI tools like Microsoft’s Copilot are more likely to complement jobs instead by automating some of the tasks involved in performing the job.
?
“According to the study, most jobs and industries are only partially exposed to automation and are “more likely to be complemented rather than substituted” by generative AI platforms. The greatest impact of this technology is expected to be the potential changes to the quality of jobs, particularly in terms of work intensity and autonomy.”
