3 Climate Trends - Issue 7
COP16, wildfire detection and how geopolitics is impacting climate action – these are the stories covered in this issue of the World Economic Forum’s 3 Climate Trends newsletter, your guide to climate, nature and sustainability in an ever-changing world.
1. Why #COP16 is a critical opportunity to save nature
Following a period of extreme drought, the Amazon has been set ablaze for the past few months, with the number of fires reaching its highest level in 14 years this September.
The WWF 's latest Living Planet Report warns that the world is fast approaching irreversible tipping points driven by the combination of nature loss and climate change.
The Amazon is one such tipping point, as it will release billions of tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere through fires and plants dying off.
The United Nations holds its 16th biodiversity conference in Colombia from 21 October to 1 November, where countries have the opportunity to demonstrate their actions on the commitments they made at COP15 where they adopted the landmark Global Biodiversity Framework to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030.
Kirsten Schuijt , WWF and Susana Muhamad dissect why COP16 is a critical opportunity to act, in this article.
2. This pinecone-shaped transmitter can aid #wildfire responses

Triggered by heat, Pyri 's signal can be detected from up to 50km away, providing remote communities with much-needed assistance.
The exact location of the wildfire is transmitted to firefighters, while AI uses weather and satellite data to predict where the fire will likely spread to next.
Watch our video to learn more about this innovation and how the world can minimize the impacts of natural disasters.
3. How #geopolitics is impacting global climate action
Humanity's ability to tackle the climate crisis is being tested by wars, trade tensions and elections.
In this episode of #RadioDavos, Arun Sharma , Adani Group and Varun Sivaram , Council on Foreign Relations , look at the diplomacy and real-world reality of climate change politics and economics.

4 个月I respectfully share the following writing for your review: The intellectual property office "lost" a page of the technical document, the government ethics court refused to take action against said office, despite presenting me with the gold medal, the World Intellectual Property Organization refused to review the case ... The project is about a filter that adapts to the exhaust pipe of motor vehicles. This filter forces carbon monoxide and the rest of the ultra-fine particles to mix with water in a container designed for this purpose. After 8 days of operation, this water with a high degree of carbon and dissolved particles can be used as fertilizer for plants, since carbon and particles pollute if they are poured into the air but fertilize the land if they are poured on the ground. (because that's where they belong). With the implementation of this technology, the millions of vehicles that pollute the air daily should be recycling their emissions intelligently and at no cost. The water-based filter in the exhaust pipe that converts carbon monoxide into fertilizer constitutes the industrial design that could change the history of the automobile. [email protected]

5 个月Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperature, precipitation, and other atmospheric conditions, primarily driven by human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial emissions. While its environmental consequences—melting ice caps, rising sea levels, and increased frequency of extreme weather events—are well documented, the effects on public health are less widely understood. Global warming and climate variability are exacerbating existing health challenges and creating new risks, particularly for vulnerable populations, including children, the elderly, and low-income communities.

Shall be protect our resources of Agriculture from all pollution which decrease yield of the crops. Shall be given more important information technology to help maintaining agricultural practice in our world ??.
