Your LinkedIn profile should be making an impact.
What kind of impact?
Enough that your ideal buyer finds your content engaging and valuable.
Even more so that they will stop the scroll to read what you have to say.
But, how do you know if your content is making that sort of impact?
Let's look at 3 simple ways to measure this on LinkedIn:
- Measure using data.?Your data will tell it all, especially if you're measuring using the right indicators.?
Indicators such as likes, impressions, engagement, click-through rates, and reposts are all great KPIs to look at.?
All of these must be measured in conjunction with one another to get the full picture. Using LinkedIn's analytics tool is a simple way to start measuring your impact.?
Look at dates that you see peaks and go back and see which post got good traction.?
Look at trends over 30 days to see if you got similar engagement with similar types of posts, then start focusing on creating content centered around that for a while.?
Continually test the content and research using the data. What was working a month or two ago, may not be the case now.
Measuring your impact doesn't stop there.
2. Measure by asking questions.
Ever wondered what people think of your content?
I mean, obviously, they're liking it, but what exactly makes them keep coming back for more?
Just ask.
This can be via a poll, survey, or quiz, or this can be a question asked straight through your inbox:
"Hey (Name), thanks for connecting! May I ask what prompted you to do so?"
You might get a response as to what prompted them (or not) but it's worth asking.
They could say that they love your content altogether, or they might give you specific reasons why, which can potentially give you more feedback on what content is packing a punch.
3. Measure by utilizing other marketing alternatives. If LinkedIn is your main source of marketing for business, are you utilizing other marketing alternatives?
Newsletter - Five months ago, I was completely uninterested in giving value through a newsletter, but one day I decided to give it a shot!

My subscribers have grown more than I would've expected, and it's given me insight into more data, which is telling me what type of content my audience enjoys or doesn't.
This alternative has shown me that my contributions via a newsletter are making an impact in some way - or else I suppose I wouldn't have subscribers.
Email Marketing - If you're making an impact here, then people will want more of what you have to offer, and that means giving up their email for that value is a no-brainer.
People signing up for your email is another alternative to tell whether you're making an impact on LinkedIn.
While all of these ways do require effort, it's certainly necessary to ensure you're not doing all of this for naught.
