3 Biggest Networking Mistakes

I am often asked what mistakes networkers make most frequently. Here are the three biggest:-
1. They think it is SELLING. They assume they have entered a room full of prospective clients, they pin people to the wall and continuously deliver their pitch. Networking is not about taking orders, it is about building relationships and mutually helping each other.
2. They do not PREPARE. They turn up late, looking disorganised and dishevelled. They have forgotten their business cards and their diaries. Networking events are serious business activities and should be approached accordingly.
3. They fail to FOLLOW UP. After having made good initial contact, they don’t strike while the iron is hot. They ignore social media possibilities and they fail to set up one-to-one meetings.
