Every house is unique when it comes to reading authentic Feng Shui. Factors such as the colors used throughout the house, the inhabitants birthdays, and the relative position of the structure on the? property can all completely change the way a house tells the story of a person’s life.
But there are some things in life that we can generalize. The sun will rise, the taxman will come and the last bite of an ice cream makes you remember the first bite, and how fast it disappeared(or is that just me?). In this article, we will look at what can be said in general about what is authentically good Feng Shui for your bedroom.? As a side note, these three have been taken from a new book I have been writing which shows exactly how everything in your home reveals your whole life, using authentic Feng Shui.?
#1. First of all, let’s look at parallelity. There are innumerable forces of influence around us at all times. All impacting our minds, health, and behavior. Of these, magnetic fields and seismic activity are perhaps some of the most fundamental in Feng Shui. A large source of significant magnetic and vibrational energy is in front of all of our homes. The road.
As a huge body of solid rock-like material floating on shifting soil, every road will carry subtle vibrations caused by the movement of cars. even after they are long gone. They affect wind patterns due to the thermal properties of the road, and even have an impact on the earth’s magnetic forces. These wave-like energies emanate from both sides of any road, affecting the houses alongside them. Although not seen with our physical eyes, this has significant consequences for our health and lives.
Whilst we sleep, our bodies release electromagnetic energy and heat. Most of which emanates from the two natural poles of our body, the head and the feet. The release of energy and heat allows our bodies to let go of pent up electromagnetic energy collected during the day. Although not currently known in depth by the scientific community, this is an important component of our body’s natural cycles.?
But when a bed's head is facing the road, the subtle energies emitted from our bodies directly collide with those emitted from the front road. The result is a rebounding effect forcing the energy released from our head back to our body. Prolonged exposure to this can lead to frequent headaches, shoulder and neck problems, poor sleep quality and general restlessness.?
Similarly, when the foot of a bed faces the road, the energies from our feet collide with that from the road, forcing the electromagnetic energy back into the lower body. People with a bed's foot facing the road will (over time) suffer from problems with their lower joints, knees, and will possibly be clumsy, often hurting their lower bodies.
This is why it is seen as bad Feng Shui to have your bed’s head or the foot of your bed, facing the road in front of your house.?
To fix this Feng shui bed problem, all you need to do is make sure that your bed is parallel to the road in front of your house. This allows the energy from the road to interact with your body from the side, allowing it to simply “roll” over you. The release of energy from your feed and head is also unencumbered which allows for better long term health, and better rest.

#2. Let’s face it. Electricity is everywhere these days. However it isn’t simply contained within the appliances it’s housed in. Electromagnetic energy leaks in all directions into its environment from all our devices. The problem is, our bodies were not designed to be bombarded by these constant electrical influences. Especially not for extended periods of continuous time such as when we sleep.
This is how we come to the second authentic Feng Shui bedroom tip which is about having tv’s in the bedroom. Even when a tv has been off for hours, it will still release some level of electromagnetic energy. I bet most everyone would’ve at some point seen a funny video of a child’s hair being drawn to a tv screen because of the static energy. Personally, I even remember as a kid loving the soft crackling sound the static made when my grandparents would turn off their old tv.?
The problem is that with our abundant lifestyles, many people like to have TV’s in their bedrooms. But similarly to the problem of road parallelity, the tv’s electromagnetic field (if within a certain distance from the bed) will also affect the people sleeping there. Specifically if the TV is placed at the foot of the bed.?
Over time, those in that bed will experience all sorts of problems associated with nerve damage in their lower body. I promise you, if you talk to most people with a TV at the foot of their bed, they’ll admit to having some kind of back problem or problems with their legs. On the other hand (although highly unlikely) if someone has a TV at the head of the bed it’ll result in problems with the upper half of their body, ie: neck cramps, shoulder problems, headaches.?
Additionally purely from a muscular perspective, if you watch a tv at the end of your bed whilst lying in bed, you’ll likely experience long term damage to your neck and shoulders. This is because of the angle we put our heads and necks in whilst watching tv from bed. Although it does depend on how you sit or lie down to watch it. If you lie on your side you may have less problems than if you have your chin to your chest.?
(Side note: because of the metallic backing providing their reflective surface, mirrors have similar negative health effects as an electrical device. The metal rebounds the waves emitted from the body, returning it to the individual, This is why from a Feng Shui perspective, mirrors shouldn’t be? kept at the foot or head of a bed.?
#3. Many people love collecting books or magazines, some may even have a small library in their bedrooms. And most children love having lots of stuffed toys with them at night. But both of these can be damaging to our energy levels and overall health.?
Everyone is away because dust collects all around us. It’s simply carried in by the wind or produced in our own homes from old skin cells and dust mite castings. Dust is made of many things, sand, dirt, pollens, and even mold and fungi.? If too much of this dust collects around us, it can lead to serious health problems.?
In the short term, dust ignites allergy symptoms and weakens the immune system. But in the long term, continuous inhalation of high concentrations of dust can lead to lower lung efficiency and eventual heart problems.?
Our beloved books and stuffed toys simply collect a lot of dust. This is one reason why it’s seen as bad Feng Shui to have clutter in the bedroom, especially books and plush toys. But don’t go throwing away your child’s favorite toy just yet. Of course one book or teddy isn't likely to cause any problems, but if you’re a collector, it's best to keep your library and cuddly corner in a separate room.
