THE 3 BEST UNKNOWN FEATURES OF LINKEDIN CREATOR MODE

THE 3 BEST UNKNOWN FEATURES OF LINKEDIN CREATOR MODE

LinkedIn Creator Mode in my opinion is one of the best things to happen to LinkedIn since its inception.

The visibility and tools provided by just turning this feature on are fantastic.

It is known that when you do turn LinkedIn Creator Mode "on", you get access to LinkedIn Live, LinkedIn Newsletters, LinkedIn Audio Rooms, and the "Follow Feature Button".

But what are the best unknown features of LinkedIn Creator Mode?

1. The LinkedIn Bell:

The LinkedIn Bell will absolutely help you grow your engagement and network organically, and here is how you can do it:

A. Give a call to action on your profile background banner:

If you check my profile and you will see that I put a simple call to action in the right corner of my background photo. All it says is "Ring my bell to stay up to date on all of my content", with an arrow image that is directly pointing to the LinkedIn Bell.

This is something you can easily create on Canva. Make sure there are not too many other words or text to take people away from what action you want them to take, which is to "ring your bell, so your connections are notified of all of your content updates.

As a reminder, the only people that can ring your bell are those who follow your account or someone who is a connection of yours.

B. Put the same call to action in your LinkedIn Video Story:

The LinkedIn Video story feature is where you get 30 seconds to clearly state what it is you do, whom you serve, how you serve them, and the different offerings that you have.

Within those 30 seconds, make sure at the end you direct people to go and "ring your bell" to be notified of all of your content updates. As a reminder, the LinkedIn Video Story feature is only able to be recorded through the mobile app but does appear on the desktop and mobile app.

Again, click on my profile picture to listen to how I have set mine up.

C. Mention it in any of the content that you produce (video, article, post):

I have spoken about this before, but it is beyond important to make sure you are putting a call to action in all the content that you produce. If you want people to engage or take a certain action like, "ring your LinkedIn bell", then you have to direct them to do so.

Simply adding that call to action at the end of your post, adding it to the end of a LinkedIn Live or native video, or simply just putting in an article or newsletter, over time will boost your total engagement with all the content you are putting out.

2. The LinkedIn Clickable Profile Link:

I love evolution, especially when it comes to LinkedIn. They are always seeing what can be done within the platform to make it stand out, unique, and unlike any other social platform out there today.

People often forget that the journey on LinkedIn begins with our profiles. It tells our stories. It lets people know what we do, how we do it, why we do what we do, and whom we serve best. Your profile is your "calling card" to attract people to your tribe.

There is a new feature that I noticed the other day looking at someone else's profile, and I said to myself, "I wonder if I can add that to mine?"

Guess what? I was!

A few years back there was a big problem on LinkedIn.....People were downloading a CSV file of their contacts (email included), and auto-opting those contacts into their funnel. I can't begin to tell you how many lists I ended up on unknowingly.

LinkedIn caught wind of this and quickly went into action on how they can put a stop to this. They figured it out very fast. GDPR regulations (the rights someone has to opt-in to an email list), were being violated by many users of LinkedIn by downloading and importing their contacts this way.

Because of this, we are no longer able to get access to our connections' emails for such a purpose, which is a good thing. But it brings up a very valid and important question.

How do I get my connections email compliantly and move the relationship from online to offline? That is a very easy question to answer...."The LinkedIn Call To Action Link".

This new feature is being utilized by some and not by many and I am going over 3 things you can do with the "call to action link" in your LinkedIn Profile Headline.

All you have to do is go to your profile, hit the pencil to the right of your name, and when you scroll to the bottom, it will say :

"Website - Add a link that will appear at the top of your profile".

Once you add your link, you then can add "Link Text". This lets the visitor of your profile exactly what they are about to click on, or the reason why they should click on the link. This compliantly allows your connections to click your link and opt-in on their own to what you are offering.

Here is what it will look like when completed for the 3 best ways to utilize this new feature of your LinkedIn Profile...

3. The LinkedIn Post Clickable Link:

The LinkedIn link sticker means you can add a clickable link using the mobile app when posting a picture. When you're posting an image and writing some content on it, if you click on it, it will give you this little metal chain link that you can add a call to action.

Geri Silver, one of the creative managers at LinkedIn, this was her post from just a few days ago, she said,

"New feature alert. We're rolling out the ability to add a clickable link to your posts. Whether you're sharing resources, job listings, or driving sales or signups, you can now convert audiences more easily by adding a clickable link. I'm testing it myself. Now, enjoy this photo of some of my wonderful community management colleagues and click through to follow the LinkedIn for creators page for more resources and programming from us. If you don't see the feature yet, stay tuned as we'll be rolling it out globally. We're also starting with creator creation on mobile only. So it's not available on the desktop version yet".

So a couple of things to unpack there. I wanted to go over three ways you could use this. But first and foremost, you can't use this feature if you don't have creator mode turned on. If you are reading this and don't have creator mode turned on, you will not be able to use this.

First and foremost, let's talk about turning creator mode on. When you go to your profile, you're going to scroll down to the resources section of your profile, which is a couple of sections down from your profile picture, and you're going to see creator mode. It will have a gray box that says "off" or a green box that says "on."

If it's green, you're good. If it's gray, you have to turn it on. Just click on "Creator Mode," and you're going to type in some areas or topics that you're going to speak on, you click next, and you then click OK. Now that it's turned on, you can use this new feature when your account is given access, on top of LinkedIn Live, LinkedIn Newsletters, and LinkedIn Audio Rooms.

The other great thing is when you are given access to this amazing resource and tool, it's going to skyrocket the ability that you have to do some amazing things within this platform.

There are three specific ways you will want to utilize this feature and three reasons you want to use it. Again, as a reminder, this only can be done from the mobile app. You have to understand that this will make connecting with people off of LinkedIn so much easier for you.

The first way you want to use this when you get it is if you have a goal of getting more appointments booked, you will want to use this new feature. What you are going to do is you're going to make a post, you're going to write your content, you're going to put an image, and in that image, you're going to put a clickable link to your acuity page, or to your Calendly page.

In the call to action in the content of your post, you're going to write, "if you'd like a free consultation, go to the picture and click my link." That's it. Now you can drive traffic from your LinkedIn content to your calendar.

Second, if you want more website visits, you will want to use this feature. Why? If you have an opt-in, a free download, or a lead magnet, you can now drive traffic to it from leading people to your website.

So same concept as in the first example, you hop onto the LinkedIn app, you write some content, you add a photo that speaks directly to the content that you've just written, you're going to click the little chain link, you're going to copy and paste your website URL, on the display text you're going to write, "get my free download" or "click here for my free download." In the body of your post, the call to action is "if you'd like my free download," "if you'd like my free checklist," and "click the link in the picture."

Now you're taking people from online to offline and giving added value. You're building the "know, like. and trust". And you're then leading them to click that link. With this new LinkedIn feature, you can drive traffic to your website to generate more revenue for your business.

The third and final thing that you may want to accomplish is getting more registrations for your events. This is a great resource and tool if you hold workshops, webinars, or master classes.

When you make a post about a workshop you have coming up, a masterclass that you're holding, or a free one-day webinar, you can make a post about it on LinkedIn through the mobile app, write your content, put an image of the event page and click the little chain link and then put the website or the link where they can go register.

The text of that link can say, "register here" or "free ticket here." Your call to action in the body of your post's text will be "if you'd like a free ticket, click on the link in the picture above."

Now you're taking people through a journey of getting more people to register for your events. If you are trying to figure out, "How can we get LinkedIn to work more for us? Or "How can we get better results?"

Which of the 3 mentioned did you not know about and which one will you start taking advantage of?
