The 3 Amplifiers of Thought Leadership

The 3 Amplifiers of Thought Leadership

Positioning yourself as a thought leader can help you advance your career significantly.

A thought leader must accomplish two things.

Create a message.

Spread the word.

That's all.

But before we get into the advantages of being a thought leader, let's define one.

A "thought leader" is a well-known expert in a particular company, industry, or society. A "thought leader" is someone who provides insight and guidance to those around them. In other words, a thought leader is well-known for sharing their knowledge and insight with others.

When it comes to positioning yourself as a thought leader, there are three amplifiers to consider.

  1. The first amplifier?includes original ideas, best practices, or one-of-a-kind systems that you've developed to advance your field and that others can benefit from. Share your 5-step optimization formula for increasing tech sales for startups if you've developed one. That is thought leadership and providing free training to others.
  2. The second amplifier?is to demonstrate thought leadership by highlighting specific advancements in your industry that you did not create. This includes new technologies, business practices, and so on. You can discuss how these new developments in your field will most likely play out. This demonstrates that you have considered these advancements and are willing to guide others safely and securely into the future. It is an example of thought leadership.
  3. The third amplifier?is to have something to say about any given topic and to filter it through your leadership lens. For example, if you work in supply chain and transportation, you could share your thoughts on how AI affects the supply chain, what the supply chain's diversity concerns are, or how China's latest input into the US economy affects the supply chain. Do you understand? Any topic can be discussed through the supply chain lens, and you can do the same for your thought leadership category.

Now that we've covered the content that will help you establish yourself as a thought leader, where should you share it, and what is the benefit?

First, in addition to your blog or website, you should share on Linkedin. You can share it as a blog post or as an article. The benefit of sharing an article is that it has a longer shelf life. It can be read and saved in your article base for later reading by others.

Second, submit your work to industry-related journals and publications. This will help you gain a stronger voice in your industry, which is important for networking and job leads.

Third, you should share your thoughts with non-industry publications such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Scientific America, and others who may be interested in your viewpoint on the subject. This in an explosive way of advancing your professional brand.

If you want advanced levels of distribution, consider the following options.

Fourth, share on social media platforms such as Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, and wherever else your target audience hangs out.

Fifth, you should share on your own podcast to provide your followers with a more in-depth look at your thought leadership.

While this may appear to be overwhelming, it is not. You could write your piece in 30 minutes and have your virtual assistant share it across all platforms in 15 to 20 minutes once your system is up and running.

We're talking about 50 minutes per week to become an industry thought leader.

What benefits does thought leadership provide?

It allows your colleagues and superiors to see you as extremely intelligent and insightful. This all puts you in a good position for future raises and promotions.

If it makes it easier for recruiters searching the web to find you and offer you top dollar for ideal roles you'd like to have, which leads to?more job security and career advancement.

You are more likely to be invited to speak at various conferences and workshops because these people will regard you as important to have on their stage.

What's more, it will strengthen your mind and ability to communicate about industry-related topics at work, allowing you to demonstrate your value and open more doors to professional opportunities.

As you begin to receive accolades, awards, and speaking opportunities related to your specific topics, post them as well to let people know you are a thought leader who is not going unnoticed.

Best wishes on your journey to thought leadership. It's one of the metrics in your Executive Blueprint that will quickly elevate you from an underpaid under promoted corporate beggar or commodity hire,?to $400,000 to $1 million specialist with an impactful?executive role.

Yes sir Jewel Edward Love, Jr! We tend to underestimate our knowledge and competency because it has been honed in, practiced so repeatedly it is "natural" to us. However, it holds value for the untrained, unpracticed! ??
