3 Actionable Marketing Tactics for Sports and Nutrition Brands
Some of my favorite clients to work with are sports and nutrition brands because they are so customer focused. No one loves to see their customers' succeed like sports and nutrition brands do - and no customer is as excited to engage and share their stories. Here are 3 actionable marketing tactics you can use for your sports and nutrition brand to increase customer engagement.
1. Make the Best of Your Happy Customers’ Progress
Sports and nutrition brands have the distinct advantage in visual content. Progress pictures, gym selfie takers, and foodies love sharing their stories and journeys on social media. Use this to your brand’s advantage with photo contests. Hold contests in instagram, Messenger, twitter, etc. to get the best product and progress pictures. Once you’ve picked a winner, use their photo in your social media marketing and of course talk to them about being a brand ambassador. Read this Hootsuite article about how to benefit from brand ambassadors.
2. Content Followups in Messenger
Sports and nutrition brands have the visual content advantage, but also a huge advantage in content! Followup with customers directly to their phone with recipes, subscription box reminders, workouts and more. Setting this up is a bit complicated. It requires a website integration, but most services offer a 15 minute integration with popular shop systems like Shopify, Woocommerce, and Magento.
3. Create Highly Converting Personalized Newsletters
A really common mistake of sports brands is overselling to customers with a newsletter that they aren’t really excited about. You can let them choose their type of newsletter so that they only receive relevant content. For example, many brands don't ask customers what their goals actually are. Most likely, you can divide customers into categories based on their goals (weight loss, overall wellness, yoga, bodybuilding, etc). You can group customers by their interests a lot of different ways. If you are planning on sending out newsletters in Messenger or WhatsApp the easiest way to group customers by interests is a quiz that automatically tags subscribers by their interests. Setup takes about an hour, but once that's done it is completely automatic.
4. Learn about the top trends for 2019
