2nd WORKSHOP: LARGE VOLUME - HIGH PRECISION SYSTEMS FOR POSITION DETECTION IN SPORTS
Date: 24th July - 28th July
Location: TUM - Department of Sport and Health Sciences, Munich, Bavaria, Germany
Objective of the Call:
The Bayerisches Hochschulzentrum für Lateinamerika (BAYLAT) and the Funda??o de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de S?o Paulo (FAPESP) are providing financial support to organize a workshop aimed at bringing together early-career researchers and PhD students from the Free State of Bavaria and the State of S?o Paulo. The goal of the workshop is to foster collaboration and exchange knowledge in the interdisciplinary field of sport science. The primary objective is to establish long-term partnerships leveraging the complementary expertise of the participants. The workshop will also serve as a platform for international scientists to engage with the local community, fostering future agreements between researchers, universities, and countries.
Main Topics to be Addressed:
1. Position Detection in Sports: The workshop will focus on the development of a gold standard for full-size pitch based on the use of active infrared LED markers. Participants will discuss current technologies, challenges, and potential applications of position detection in various sports.
2. Sports Biomechanics in Soccer: The biomechanical aspects of soccer will be explored, including the analysis of player movements, techniques, and injury prevention. The workshop will provide a platform for researchers to share their findings, methodologies, and insights in this area.
3. Machine Learning in Sports: The application of machine learning techniques in sports analytics and performance optimization will be a key topic of discussion. Participants will explore how machine learning algorithms can be utilized to analyze sports data, enhance training methodologies, and improve decision-making processes.
By the end of the workshop, it is expected that participants will have developed a strong foundation for future collaborative projects between Germany and Brazil, particularly in the field of position detection in sports. The workshop aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, foster innovation, and establish long-lasting partnerships in the field of sport science.
Requirements for participating:
