I'm thrilled to share that I placed 2nd in the UQJX ( 澳大利亚昆士兰大学 's Japan Exchange Society's) Annual Japanese Speech Competition (Open Division)! Competing in this division, aimed at those with JLPT - Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 3 or higher proficiency, was an incredible challenge, especially as the only high school student among university competitors.
The topic was 'If you could change any one rule in the world, what would you change?'
I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support of my school and teachers (namely Ms. Masumi Morimoto ), who have guided me throughout this learning journey and helped me reach the language proficiency I have today. Their encouragement has been instrumental in my success.
I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the judges who took part in the competition: Ms. Julie Yamamoto , Ms. Kasumi Wang, Ms. Sara-Jane Seery (セーラジェイン?シーリー) , and the Honourable Consulate-General of Japan, Mr. Junji Gomakubo. I am honored to have had the opportunity to present my speech before such esteemed individuals.
This experience has further fueled my passion for the Japanese language, and I look forward to continuing to improve and embrace new challenges in the future.
