Hello everyone and happy Saturday,
I am still recovering from illness while people return from their vacations and start their 2025 work life.
Before we look at some of the updates from this week, I wanted to share the good news that this newsletter has crossed 2K subscribers this past week.
I am extremely grateful for your support and encouragement. Thank you so much!
Here are some updates from last week
Updates from CES 2025
Many OEMs showcased their innovation in the CES 2025 this past week. You can get the download here:
AI PC will be a major traction area in the coming months. Its great to see so many innovations by the vendors. Dell's AI PC Studio is one such innovation that can help the developer community of the future build AI-enabled and supported applications without worrying about the underlying PC specifications. In the future, the workloads that can be handled by a PC or notebook will be way different from what they are now. It is important that IT administrators make the device procurement decisions considering this future requirement as AI-enabled processes and app development become common. Also, devices offer more on-device features to enhance the experience with meetings and conferences, including AI-enabled cameras, voice suppression etc. I couldn't help but wonder about the possibility of integrating the popular UCaaS applications into future devices. Just like we have a Copilot button for Windows AI PC, can we not have a button to launch Zoom, Cisco etc. and leverage the innovations these applications offer, utilizing the underlying hardware features and specifications as a future of meetings and conferencing? Lenovo, for example, offers its own AI agent solution that is built into a device. This offers immense possibilities for integrating software with the underlying hardware's built-in features. When talking about the future of work, we may not be paying enough attention to how these AI-enabled devices can bring greater transformation and disruption.

NVIDIA CEO's new statement
英伟达 CEO Jensen Huang gave an interesting statement this week. More details here:
As I have written before, an AI-enabled future may require rethinking how traditional business functions operate. As we integrate more digital workers into the workforce, introducing more automation and AI-enabled processes, IT admins may spend more time configuring them rather than on traditional responsibilities. As an example, I have already written that a service desk agent of the future may not answer calls and chats but rather work as a prompt engineer to configure the employee-facing AI-enabled assistant.
UCaaS
Just after Microsoft Ignite, I recorded a video about the trends in the UC space for UC Today about 2025 predictions. This video has now been released by UC Today. You can see the video here:
