In the last blog #28 Caravan architecture design, I showed the Caravan's electronic expansion architecture, where the innermost level black box was opened to become a white box. In this architecture, you could see all kinds of elements and how they were connected to each other through interfaces. Each element and interface was given a unique name, to make them identifiable in further development work.
In this blog #29 we have now entered Finalize design Pt.1.F. schedule, se blog #18 Tailoring the simplified Cpdm. This activity has now developed a numbered list of interfaces and elements, describing the first 10 interfaces and elements in more detail. The description must be clear and detailed enough to place an order from these suppliers. Suppliers are illustrated in development scheme X1.a. in the thumbnail image above, and will deliver collections to be integrated into the upcoming development schedule Pt.1.I.
In large projects, the finished design can consist of thousands of expensive interfaces and elements. In such cases the costs can be summed up, to consider the price of the whole system, which may need to be simplified to be cheaper, before spending any money on the system.
There are a total of 30 interfaces and elements identified in the Caravan architecture design, which will be continued in future LinkedIn articles.
