Wait a minute!! I know self-love but self-hatred. Do people even hate themselves? Yes, certainly they are. How can this even possible? It happens because of the image they create for themself which they think is perfect. Perfect self! But why they even created the perfect self in the first place. Because of the people's need to be socially acceptable, which is completely normal.
The problem with the approach is the social circle you form for yourself. Do they accept as you are? If not, why being around them? There are still billions of people out there who can accept you as you are.
What is self-love? It's about accepting your true self as it is and showing love towards you. Sometimes few people hate their body so much, they work hard to change themself. Sometimes it may work, but you'll get so much resistance from your body. Think about the person you hate so much. Will you do good for him/her easily? Even if you want to, you've to push yourself so hard to do it because of your hate towards him/her.
The same happens with your body. If you love yourself, it'll be easy for you to do good things for your body.
It not only help you achieve a healthier, fitter and disciplined lifestyle. It also helps you show love for others. If you can't afford food, can you donate food to the homeless? No, we can't. If your body starves for love, how can you give it to someone else?
The first and foremost towards the love of all the humans around you is self-love. You take care of your part. Let other people take care of their part. If you want to create a clean world, you've with cleaning your home. If you want to create a world of love, you've to start with loving yourself.
