#28 What is true love?

We people want someone in life to be with us who can accept us the way we are. But how often we accept the people as they are. People often love a particular kind of person even if they are not what they want, and then they hope their love would change them. No, they won't. They are matured human beings. They won't change until they feel the need to.

This is like buying a dog and hoping that your love would change it to a cat. What a ridiculous thought it is. If you want a cat, why not buy a cat?

In the initial stage of the love phase, they were in this euphoria state. The overexcitement and the over thrill experience they get from love. They'll think that's what true love is. No, it's not. True love is more than that.

If you truly love them, you'll accept the partner as the way they are. Your desperate need to change your partner's characteristics often arises from your egoistic mind. That's not loving. That's just you trying to satisfy your egoistic needs through your partner. How can we even call that love?

Let's take a promise. If you're ever going to have a life partner, accept your partner the way they are. Let's not ruin their lives as well as ours.
