Thailand Speeds Up Airport Travel with Biometric System

Kicking off earlier this month for domestic travel and from December 1 for international flights, six airports (Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, and Hat Yai), in Thailand have rolled out a new automated biometric identification system.? ?

Using facial recognition technology, passengers can now bypass traditional check-in procedures. After providing consent and capturing their biometric data, domestic and international explorers can proceed directly to the boarding gate without needing passports or boarding passes. The objective is to reduce wait times and significantly enhance the overall travel experience.?

First Round of Education Funds Handed Over in Mai Chau

Parents in Mai Chau were filled with pride as Discova’s Educational Travel team was able to hand out the very first set of educational scholarships to deserving students, thanks to generous contributions by our partners to?the Eileen Yee Educational Fund.?

A team of Discovians personally handed over the funds to ensure these bright young minds in in Northern Vietnam are able to complete their high school education. Founded earlier in 2024, the Eileen Yee Educational Fund was launched to decrease the high school drop-out rates of students within the grassroots communities we work in, honouring the tremendous work done in this field by the remarkable Eileen, who passed away in September 2023.?
