On August 29, 2017, I laced up my shoes and ran one mile. No big deal, right?

Except… I never stopped.

2,742 days later, I’ve logged over 10,600KM (6,580 miles)—through heat, cold (26°F, wind chill of 19°! ??), and every excuse my brain tried to throw at me.

But here’s where it got interesting…

In late 2022, early 2023, I cranked things up a notch. I challenged myself to run a 5K (3.11 miles) every day—and I did it for: ? 47 days in a row (Dec 25, 2022 – Feb 9, 2023) ? 66 more days in a row (Feb 20 – Apr 26, 2023)

And then? I hit a wall. ??

I started feeling burned out—not just with the 5Ks, but with running itself.

So instead of quitting, I adjusted. I scaled back to 3.22KM (2 miles) daily while keeping my streak alive. And now? I’m gearing up to run my first-ever 10K (6.22 miles) this year!

1?? Just do it. If I waited until I felt ready, I’d have quit years ago. I’ve run looking like a drunk zombie, but action always beats perfection.

2?? Accept no excuses. My coldest run ever? 26°F with a wind chill of 19°. The conditions weren’t ideal—but goals don’t wait for comfort.

3?? Silence is golden. I used to think I needed podcasts or music. Turns out, just listening to the world is more powerful than any playlist.

4?? Goals are great, but listening to your body is better. Some days I run 2 miles, some days I push for a 5K. Flexibility beats rigidity.
