27.3 million people in India need digital skill training immediately: Amazon Web Services

A top Amazon Web Services executive stated on Wednesday that over 27 million people in India need to be taught digital skills, particularly in cloud-related technologies, to unleash the country's USD 1 trillion digital economy potential by 2025 and enable it to compete globally.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) managing director of Asia Pacific and Japan commercial sales Phil Davis said AWS has trained over 2 million individuals in India and continues to bridge the cloud skills gap in the country while sharing updates on the cloud skilling program aimed at narrowing the talent gap in the country.

He claims that digital skills training would help India unlock a $1 trillion digital economy by 2025.
