2708 - 19th St. SW Has Residential or Commercial Possibilities
After getting my Sunday spiritual needs taken care of, I decided to call my friend in need because I hadn't spoken with her in days, so I picked up the phone and dialed her number, and for whatever reason, it wouldn't ring normally, and after a few times, I'd get disconnected. I then tried calling her on from my landline, and those several rings were even more odd, which had me even more worried about her because I couldn't get thru, so I got in my car and drove over to her home.
When I got there, everything looked normal outside, so I rang the doorbell more times than several until I could hear someone coming to the door. She was surprised to see me because I always call before I stop over. You can't imagine how glad I was to find nothing had happened to her. I went ahead and explained why I stopped by, so I went in and checked her phones, and all three of them seemed to be plugged in and working, so I went ahead and dialed her number from my cell phone, just so she could hear what it sounded like. We did discover that one could call out, but no incoming calls would come in. She did admit that she hadn't received any phone calls in at least two days, so I picked up the phone and called CenutryLink's customer service.
Believe it or not, I was on hold with them for over an hour, and still no customer service rep would come in the line, so after doing a few chores for her, I headed back to office and went online and contacted CenturyLink myself. I'm assuming their 'AI' tested her line, and wouldn't you know, they discovered something was wrong with her line, so they'll be conducting a service call tomorrow at her home. My gosh! What a run around. After all of this morning's nonsense with CenturyLink, she's decided to cancel her landline in the near future and purchase a cell phone, just as many others have been doing. It's looking more and more like landlines are going to be a thing of the past.
I couldn't believe what time it was when I finished with her because it was nearing the hour of Noon, so I stopped out to Taco Tico and purchased as a take-away, two small tacos for lunch at my office. Every so often, I do get a craving for their tacos which always hit the spot.
My early afternoon appointment was to go out and meet with the seller of the home located at 2708 - 19th St. SW which is a property I had listed over ten years ago, but unfortunately the gentleman passed away, so I now have it listed with one of his relatives.
Having known the property for years, and then recently doing some extra research, it'll be on the open market early tomorrow morning, but since I'd already taken the photos and measurements, I figured I might as well talk about it tonight.

To begin with, the property is right across the street from Anderson's Market, and a stone's throw from Casey's, which would make it a good building site for a small convenience store or specialty shop. The land included is just shy of exactly one acre, which would be more than enough room to build just about anything a person would want and still have parking. The only thing a commercial developer would have to do, is petition the city and have the land re-zoned from Z2 to Z3.
On the flip-side, I also figured there'd be enough room for a developer to build four twin homes on that site, and since the land extends all the way from Harding to Wilson, the utilities are already there, along with there already being curb and gutter. Yes, that would save a great deal of build-out money.
As of right now, there's a smaller 1 bedroom home which needs some major upgrading, a 10' x 40' shed that needs work, a 36' x 31' building that was a workshop at one time, and a well built 24 x 30 garage, so if someone was wanting buildings, there's more than enough.
With all things considered, 2708 - 19th St. SW has residential or commercial possibilities, and indeed if I were looking for a 'sure-thing' project, I'd be jumping at the chance to purchase it and start building. Tonight's main photo is the exterior of the home, but it you click on it, a slide-show will start. We all know there's a housing shortage in this town, so let's hope a forward-thinking developer gets it bought. I've been assured that ALL personal property and refuse will be completely removed before the sale of it closes. We're asking $124,500 for it, so please put the word out because it's definitely got up-side potential each and every way you look at it.
Tonight's One-liner is: For Donald, lying was primarily a mode of self-aggrandizement meant to convince other people he was better than he actually was.
