27/02/2022 - Great Home Win for Hailsham United Colts
Having started slowly, it took some time to get into our stride.?We were slow and second to the ball in all areas of the pitch and struggled to get our range of passing.
After inviting some pressure from our own bad play, we got to see the hard work in training pay off!
A lovely through ball saw Dan C race free and slot the ball into the visitors net for the opening goal, 1-0
We made several other chances throughout the first half but couldn’t quite finish them.?Our defending remained solid throughout the half though meaning we went into the half time break 1-0 up.
The second half started much better. We were starting to cause Crowborough a lot of problems getting in behind their back line, a tactic that paid off as Dan C bagged his second goal after bursting though onto a neatly placed through ball not long after the restart, 2-0.
Unfortunately, we conceded almost straight away!?We had to regain our composer and that meant winning the midfield battle.
As soon as we started to gain control of the midfield, we scored our third.?Dan C getting his hat-track from yet another perfectly weighted through ball.
Again, we conceded almost immediately, but this time we maintained our grip on the game scoring another 2 goals in fairly quick succession courtesy of Jesse P-J.
Final result was a 5-2 win for our Colts team.?A good, all round performance and a well-deserved win! Well Done Hailsham United Colts!
