The Regional Congress on Organics and Climate Change took place on September 25-26 at BIC. It was organised by Hasiru Dala and India Zero Waste Alliance, with support from the Global Alliance for Incinerator Alternatives (GAIA). This event brought together experts to discuss sustainable organic waste management and climate action. SWMRT actively contributed through a stall display and panel discussions.
SWMRT SEPTEMBER WORKSHOPS
This September, SWMRT hosted two major workshops. The first was a Sustainable Waste Management Workshop for Communities held in Electronic City on September 14. Fifty participants from nine apartment complexes joined to explore waste segregation, composting, and waste reduction strategies. On September 15, another workshop on Composting and Gardening was organised at SGKK and attended by 45 participants.

Dumping of waste leads to direct and indirect environmental impacts such as land occupation, resource depletion, amplification of globalwarming due to methane and other greenhouse emissions, waters intoxication due to landfilling, as well as acidification and toxic effects from emissions to air. When we can dispose of garbage at source, Why is there a need for Landfill ?? No Smell. No Burning. No Smoke. No Pollution. No landfill. No Methane. No Water pollution. No Health Issues. ? Technology works well in rainy season also. ? Outcome product is RDF fluff that is more valuable than coke ? Small establishment ? Plug-N-Play For waste management in City.
