?? AI features for loyalty members from Air India ??

Air India has introduced eZ Booking, an AI-powered feature designed to simplify flight reservations using natural language and voice input. This tool makes the booking process easier, allowing passengers to secure flights quickly through a conversational interface.

Exclusively available to Maharaja Club members, eZ Booking minimizes steps in the reservation process, eliminating unnecessary navigation. By using ‘Agentic AI,’ which functions like a human travel agent, the system understands customer preferences and generates personalized itineraries in real time.

With support for natural language interaction and voice commands, travelers can simply state their travel needs, such as “Find me a morning flight from Delhi to Mumbai tomorrow,” without manually searching through options. Users can also make instant modifications, adjusting dates, destinations, or flight times with close to no effort.

? Big policy changes for Star Rewards Program ?

Starbucks is making a customer-friendly change by expanding its free refill policy. As of Monday, Jan. 27, all customers who order hot or iced coffee or tea to stay can now receive a free refill during the same visit at participating locations. Previously, only Starbucks Rewards members were eligible for this perk.

However, there are a few conditions. To-go orders don’t qualify, and refills are limited to hot brewed or iced coffee and tea. Specialty drinks, Cold Brew, Nitro Cold Brew, flavored Iced Tea, and Starbucks Refreshers bases are excluded. Customers must have their first drink served in a ceramic mug, glass, or clean personal cup to qualify for a refill.

This update aligns with the return of Starbucks' self-serve condiment bar and handwritten names on cups, part of an effort to enhance the in-store experience. Other recent changes include removing fees for dairy-free milk alternatives, improving mobile pricing transparency, and updating menus with new and returning seasonal items.

?? New features for Rakuten’s subscribers ??

Rakuten has launched Programmatic Loyalty, a first-of-its-kind AI-driven advertising solution designed to deliver guaranteed return on ad spend (ROAS). By using automation and first-party data, brands and retailers can dynamically adjust cash-back rates, optimize media placements, and target high-value customers - all with measurable performance outcomes. A leading home and garden brand using the platform saw a 107% increase in shoppers and an 81% rise in trips while maintaining its monthly ROAS goals.

The platform operates on a three-step workflow, allowing brands to set a gross merchandise value (GMV) target, apply a fixed commission rate, and use AI-driven insights. By flexing Cash Back offers, retailers can maximize conversions and improve average order value (AOV).

Rakuten’s Chief Revenue Officer, Julie Van Ullen, highlights how Programmatic Loyalty is reshaping affiliate marketing by providing brands with a goal-based, performance-driven approach. Unlike traditional rewards platforms, this AI-powered solution ensures retailers get measurable results with a clear return on investment, reinforcing Rakuten’s position as a leader in personalized loyalty marketing.

?? JetBlue and Venmo collaboration! ??

JetBlue has become the first airline to accept Venmo as a payment option, making it easier for customers to book flights online. U.S. travelers can now pay using their Venmo balance, linked bank accounts, debit, or credit cards when purchasing tickets on jetblue.com, with availability on the JetBlue mobile app coming soon. This move reflects JetBlue’s commitment to providing digital payment solutions, catering to travelers who prefer the convenience of Venmo.

Beyond just booking, the partnership highlights Venmo’s role in simplifying shared travel expenses. PayPal’s John Anderson notes that Venmo's integration with JetBlue helps travelers split costs from booking through the trip itself. This follows JetBlue’s recent digital enhancements, such as boarding countdowns and real-time gate updates on the mobile app.

Customers booking directly through JetBlue benefit from the lowest fares, exclusive promotions, and exclusive rewards. Direct bookings earn 2x TrueBlue points, access to Points Pooling, and seat upgrades.
