It is important to note that the amounts given is for mid to low income individuals. Many are effectively within the poor income groups still may not qualify because of the metrics being used. There must be a comprehensive way of providing for those who need help.

In the past, there are many, in fact too many low income families who had not received the voucher values effectively because it was not in cash but in vouchers. Because cash can be kept in the bank and vouchers can be lost over time very easily plus there is a expiry date. The design of the distribution may create a default where beneficiaries do not get any help.

There are many needy in Singapore whom are hiding within their little homes (if they have any) without any form of news, mobile, or ways to stay in touch with all these new policies. Many of these individuals are not being supported.

Pennies Wise, Pounds Foolish

It is great that now everyone has a $500 to defray their costs given the inflation, however, on a per month basis it is less than $50. Would this then be enough?

We to remember, the weight of inflation and costs falls on the poor more than those of the rich. In my opinion, I think the inflation is suffocating for many.

While the full impacts of the increase in property prices have yet to be seen, it is already so devastating. By next year, it will get worse.

Would it be time at this phrase of the crisis, that the poor and low income individuals be protected with minimum wages of $2000 which is effectively $1000 at this time and space? While there is an income floor to protect foreign talents not to be exploited, can we ask for a floor to protect our own citizens.

Minimium wage protects the people in everything, especially now and going forward

This will be useful for everyone whether or not they are locals, because eventually everyone will be after working here for a few years. Let us be real here, its is no secret to everyone and if you find this to be new, I wonder where did you come from?

In Singapore, we need foreign talents, let us face it. The way I look at it, the more the merrier. However, we need to think of the impacts that it has on our society. We need to protect everyone else. Before we expand our citizenships we need to make sure that everyone has enough to get by.

In fact, we need to ensure that every citizen have a minimum wage of $3,000. Why so, because more demand for property will raise prices across the board and eventually creates high costs of living and lowers the quality of living for everyone.

If it is claimed that foreign incomings could help our nation, then our nation as a whole must be able to support our very own citizens, regardless of race, competencies and other considerations. They should be taken care of, as if they are a family member to us.
