Thinking On Water With James:

In this week’s episode, we’re thinking about the shelf life of industrial-strength sodium hypochlorite or bleach. How long will a drum of sodium hypochlorite last? What factors can impact its shelf life? Do heat and light have an impact??Will contact with certain metals have an impact? What is chemically happening to the sodium hypochlorite to reduce its shelf life? What are the possible consequences of feeding it after it is beyond its shelf life? How does understanding the shelf life of sodium hypochlorite impact the volume ordered when usage rate is considered? Take this week to think about the shelf life of industrial-strength sodium hypochlorite and what it may mean to you.?

My daughter gets credit for helping the #IndustrialWaterTreatment comic series come into existence. When COVID started and I was working from home, I fortunately had a lot more time with my family with the lack of commute time each day. One Saturday I was looking for a fun project to do with my kids and found a YouTube video on how to draw a superhero. Admittedly, I may have liked it more than the kids, but we still had lots of fun. I made my superhero a water superhero, of course. I kept thinking about my little water superhero and wondering what else I could do with this concept. My daughter was really ramping up her drawing skills and had been using a program on her iPad called Procreate, which is actually quite a powerful little graphics program for a tablet. She taught me how to use it, thus eliminating a large barrier by moving me from just paper to the screen of my iPad. To express my gratitude to all the water treatment superheroes who were out facing their customers every single day while I had the luxury of working from home during COVID, I created and shared the very first Industrial Water Treatment comic. The rest is history thanks to some help from my pre-teen daughter (and my son, too). #IWTfun
