Glue Reply, an outcome-focused strategy and enterprise architecture specialist, that is currently working closely with the Technology and Innovation team at DBS, recently challenged DBS to a step challenge.
The aim of the challenge was to see which organisation could record the most steps within the month of September. DBS rose to the challenge, and won both the team and the individual challenges!
As the overall team winner, DBS has been able to donate funds of £1000 from Glue Reply, to its corporate charity, Quinn's Retreat.
As for individual winners, our congratulations to Adam?Duell, DBS Head of User Centric Design?for completing a whopping 330km during the challenge period (using step count) and to Nico?Celaj, DBS Head of Innovation,?for completing 202.82km (using Strava).
Both individual winners were able to choose charities to donate funds to. Nico nominated NSPCC to receive £500, and Adam nominated The UK Sepsis Trust, which also received a £500 donation.?
Adam said:
“My routine has always been to get up around 6am and do 1-2 hours of walking, regardless of the weather. I am a keen hill walker, regularly visiting the Northumberland Hills or Lake District to walk.

“It was a brilliant challenge, and it has been great to see the weekly progress emails and the daily updates internally on the steps spreadsheet here in DBS as everyone got involved. The benefits to being outside in nature, whether it is walking or running, are immeasurable both for physical and mental health.”
“I requested my £500 donation to go to The UK Sepsis Trust as they do vital work across the health and care sector to educate healthcare professionals to recognise and treat sepsis promptly.”
Additionally, our congratulations to?Manoj Nambiar?at Glue Reply for recording the highest number of steps in their organisation, resulting in another £500 going to charity, making it an amazing £2,500 raised in total.
Barry Topham, Executive Director of Technology and Innovation at DBS commented:
“Congratulations to everyone who took part. The challenge was a great experience for all involved and met its objective of getting colleagues moving more and raising money for charity. We hope to repeat this event in the future and would encourage more colleagues to join.”
Barry has also extended special thanks to the Glue Reply team for their efforts, engagement, and prizes. And, of course, to everyone in DBS who threw themselves into this challenge!
Congrats team DBS!
Congratulations to everyone who participated in this amazing challenge and looking forward to the next one!
