25 Years

25 Years

Is a long time. I will definitely not say that it just seems like yesterday that I started on my journey into the unknown world of IT, 25 years back. It has been one heck of a journey so far, with all the fun and pain on the way along. Infosys was the starting point, which let me grow myself in more ways than one and we had a long fruitful association of 18+ years. When I finally did decide to move on, it was with almost as if leaving an important part of my life behind. But I never really left if behind, because the next organization, Curologic was founded and run by ex-Infoscions, where I spent a few years, reliving the small organization culture. Hoping onto the next and current organization, BrainScale is again connected to Infosys.

Feel proud of all the organizations and people I have worked with. I don't want to take people names, because will never be able to do justice to all the names who have had either short or long lasting impact on me, but there are surely so many of them, who have become friends for life.

The journey of being a fresher, developer, team lead, manager, architect, mentor, executive council member, head of various committees, it is for sure seen it and done it all and am so very satisfied. Fortunate enough to have had multitude of accolades on the way like the numerous spot awards, Microsoft MVP awards, Infosys AFE Gold awards, technical articles, lounge reading books, blogs, Packt ASP.NET Book publication and alongside my very own IIT Mumbai experience as a short humor novel.

My current stint with BrainScale has been also extremely rewarding so far and look forward to many more years of association. I would not be able to beat my years at Infosys given that I will reach retirement age before that, but lets see how it goes.

As I stand hear, 25 years in the Industry and look back, I can say very confidently that I have no regrets, and whatever work, decisions, people, organizations I have been, have been super wonderful. With all the good wishes of all you, I will continue to chug along and hopefully do some new interesting things in the years to come.

And before closure, special thanks to my parents and my family for believing in me all these years. My wife and daughter, who have been with me for the better part of this journey and their support is what has pulled me all along, in the good and the tough times.

Namaste!

"don't want to take people names, because will never be able to do justice to all the names" - many a times, quite true.
