#25 What's New In Social?

If you use ChatGPT for anything then you'll definitely want to read my tip in this week's Rachel's Social Snippets #25 it's an absolute MUST read and act upon tip!

Where to start - there's been so much happening in the past week-ten days in the world of social media it's hard to know where to begin. From lawsuits to threatened breakups ?? it really has all been happening and I've only highlighted a few for you otherwise we'd be here all day!

YouTube? - Shorts Are Getting, Well Less Short! ??

Creators will soon be able to make Shorts videos that are up to three minutes long.

TikTok?- Faces Over A Dozen Lawsuits Declairing The App Is Harmful To Youth

Over a dozen U.S. states have sued TikTok, arguing that the platform’s addictive algorithm is driving a mental health crisis among children and teens.

LinkedIn? - Adds Another Puzzle Game

After launching its initial slate of puzzle games?back in May, LinkedIn’s now adding another to the mix, with “Tango,” a logic game based on image matching. Does anyone actually play these games? Do you play them?

Meta? - Announces Image Animation and Video Expansion Tools

At Advertising Week, Meta announced new advertising tools such as AI video animation, expanded creator collaboration options, and more!

Facebook? - Facebook Lanches Gen Z Focused Redesign

Facebook wants to woo more younger users to join its social network, instead of spending all their time on TikTok, Instagram, and other social apps - Good luck with that one I say ??

X? - Brazil Finally Lifts Ban On Musk's X After It Pays $5m Fine

Brazil's supreme court has said it is lifting a ban on the social media platform X, formerly know as Twitter after having complied with ALL judicial demands.

General - US Government Considers Breakup Of Google

For the first time since AT&T was dismantled into Baby Bells four decades ago, the US government is weighing the breakup of one of the world’s largest and most consequential monopolies: Google. ????

?? Super, Super Important If You Use ChatGPT???

Not so much a social media tip this week but nevertheless a hugely important one.

If you are using ChatGPT then you'll absolutely want to change this security setting if you haven't already done so...

Log into ChatGPT. Click your profile image top right, might just be a grey circle with your initials in it if you've not uploaded your profile image. Click 'Settings' then 'Data Controls' and turn OFF 'Improve the model for everyone'.

With this setting turned ON (most people have this on it would seem) you are authorising ChatGPT to use/share anything, and I mean anything you upload/input into their system. That could be pitch decks, confidential financials, intelectual property, video transcriptions or private information etc, basically whatever you input or upload into their system they have the right to share with others unless you switch that setting to OFF!
