25 ways How HOTEL MANAGERS can MAKE their HOTEL WORKERS HAPPY

You know those little things that make your shift special and are not really connected to you in any way? A Hotel Supervisor’s attitude, the way a Hotel Manager behaves towards you or random surprises that your colleagues treat you to in your Department?
Say thank you. It sounds easy enough, but you would be surprised how many Hotel Managers and leaders do not say thank you. Never leave the Hotel without saying goodbye. This is just rude. You are going home as the work you had to do in the Hotel was done. Be courteous.
Be transparent. It is easy for Hoteliers to misinterpret what their goals are when their Hotel Manager is not transparent. Acknowledge hard work. When you notice that people come to the Hotel and give you 100 percent, acknowledge it! See what happens!
Ask for feedback. Do the right thing and ask for input from your employees. They are the ones doing the really difficult work! Listen. If they come to you to talk, do not look at your texts, or answer your phone or stop in the middle of the conversation to do something else. Look after your Hoteliers. It is so scary making a mistake and not knowing if your Hotel Manager or Supervisor will support you. Feed your Hoteliers properly. Because we all like food, and it is a nice way to say thank you.
Forgive us. Understand that we are normally doing the best we can when things go wrong. Appreciate that we are all still growing. Forgive us. Give me Sociable Colleagues Is it not so much better when you have nice colleagues to work with? Remember my birthday. It makes me feel so appreciated. Provide us with the necessary tools. We all need mentoring. If you see us struggling with a certain skill, provide us with the resources to learn. Give me Good Coffee or Tasty Tea. Learning every Day. Just a short time.
What else? Give me Tasks that have meaning for me. Most of the time, every day. A Good Training Program. This really motivates me. A Flexible Work Schedule. A Unique Benefits Package. Nice Tools to work with. A Good P.C. or Laptop. A Comfortable Chair. A Meal Break. Another Short Break every shift.
But Remember: You are Hotel Management. Sometimes it is expected that we will think and act like Hotel Managers, too. But remember we are not a genie, sorcerer, or fortune-teller!
What other small things make you happy during Hotel Shifts? Join in and tell us what you think?
If you have not joined in before. Give it a try ....

3 年-Social : I believe in socialising with colleagues it creates a stronger relationship which enables the team to accomplish daily tasks. - Have fun: This the best moment or time everyone looks for, after long busy day in the company just refresh the mind and relax and take the breath. It can be; : play soccer. : Have picnic : have snacks together etc. -Inter- cultural relationship: A hotel is a place of different nationalities working under one brand, and also a great platform to discover new cultures, their traditions and their customs. Through inter cultural relationship we learn: 1) new skills and 2) To relate better to each other... Thanks.
