The Department of Employment and Labour has released the much anticipated 24th Commission for Employment Equity (CEE) Report. Find the full report here.
The 24th CEE Report indicates while progress has been made, there is still significant work to be done. The current trajectory suggests it could take as long as 90 years for some racial and gender groups to achieve full representation in the Economically Active Population (EAP). This underscores the need for a more proactive approach to achieving equity.
By utilizing the report's insights and data, employers can refine their D&I strategies, address barriers to equity, and contribute to creating a more inclusive and representative workforce in South Africa. The report highlights significant changes in the national and provincial workforce demographics. This evolving landscape will influence the new Ministerial regulations and ultimately impact employment equity targets for your organization. The report also offers valuable data on the most common barriers to achieving equity in the workplace, along with successful affirmative action strategies implemented across 18 different sectors.
The CEE Report empowers designated employers to evaluate their current standing, assess their organization's progress towards employment equity goals, benchmark against industry standards and compare their D&I efforts to similar companies in your sector. By analysing these insights, employers can refine their diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategies and address specific challenges within their organization.
