24 years... and still counting

This month marks my 24th year of service to SRT, and I can’t help but reflect on the fact that I have been here as long as some of my younger colleagues have been alive. Twenty-four years - a journey filled mostly with ups, but of course, a few twists and turns along the way. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has always been important and worth my time and effort.

It has been - and continues to be- a journey fueled by passion for the work we do and deep respect for my team and our partners. I have been fortunate to work with the most amazing people, both on and off stage, over the years. A particular highlight for me was leading the organization through the pandemic, ensuring that all of us remained gainfully and securely employed, and making sure SRT was the first company in Singapore to return to the stage. I have seen hundreds of students in our Young Companies leave SRT with life skills that set them on a stronger path forward. We have sold over one million tickets, produced nearly 200 plays and musicals, and I have signed more employment contracts than I can remember. These 24 years have flown by.

I truly believe part of SRT’s success lies in the stable and strong leadership that Gaurav Kripalani and I provide, as we leverage our different networks and years of experience - energized by the fresh ideas of our younger colleagues. We have a brilliant board in place and a supercharged team. I may not be ready for another 24 years, but I’m certainly excited to see how we continue to embrace new opportunities and navigate future challenges.

It takes a village… and my village is absolutely the best one around.
