17: In every effect of pure transition, the beginning and end of the process involved should be distinctly indicated by some coincident occurrence.
The first thing and most important to remember is that, when Maskelyne refers to ‘pure transition’, he means a revelation that is unexpected and new. With that thought in place, this rule needs little or perhaps even no explanation.
Focus on the words distinctly indicated. Introduce your revelation proudly. Point to it in a presentation. Once you’ve shown it off, make sure you close as well. Any questions? Is that clear? Put a button on it, so to speak.
This one really is that simple, but it’s also thoroughly important.
