Amelia Earhart once said:
"The most difficult thing is the decision to act."
It's a wise saying. Of course, this was right before she decided to act and mysteriously disappeared over the ocean. So maybe it's more of a "do as Amelia says, not as Amelia does" type of idea.
Still, it's a wise saying.
Fast forward nearly a century and a project manager from San Francisco named Daveed made the decision to act and, in doing so, changed the lives of many. His journey is an inspiration for what you should be doing now.

1 年All the hair just grew back on my legs (sorry tmi ?? ) from reading what Daveed did. 1200 refugees?! And to get his friends to join him. That is so incredible. I will say, one thing to always keep top of mind while having radical empathy is boundaries. Many people may start off 'receiving' this with good intentions, and then take advantage of it long term. Love your newsletters. They are so much fun to read, even when they include such powerful/heartwarming/renching stories. Nicely done, Jeff.

1 年Ass???? (a Swedish 10-year-old), you write such good stories, Jeff! This one is fantastic! Btw, Sweden has taken care of many Ukrainians - my best friend had a Ukranian lady living with them for 6 months.

1 年Listening to understand is the topic of the signature keynote I'm developing, and I'm starting to think nothing in life or business works well without this important skill. What a great share, as always, Jeff. I also want to add that when you choose radical empathy, some people are going to be irritated. They might say you're bonkers or that you're so arrogant to think that you are the one to help. That's their problem, not yours. Keep going.
